why is dm7 so slow?

I have 4 subs but none of them have built in DSPs. I am trying to find some sort of box for adding delay to the correct speakers so I can play around with cardioid setups but I can't find anything online. But this must exist, right? (And not cost $1,000)

Why don't you use fiberglass behind the speaker so it just throws the sound One direction so you wouldn't have to turn a speaker speaking face in the stage p speaker place in the audience fiberglass is doing its job

We're all guilty of abusing ourselves sometimes, eating bad food, making risky maneuvers when moving and rigging gear, not sleeping, too much redbull, whatever. If you're not showing up as your best self, you'll be a liability to the show vs an asset. Respect your limits, and take care of your self.

Does the measurement mic connected to input 1 should go BACK to output 1?, you don't mention here if it needs to be routed only to the inputs of the measurement software, because by default the mic we connect on input 1 will go ALSO to output 1 and that will create a feedback loop

Quesiton: Is the Left Right Matrix linked together as in X32 LInked Channel or is this even possible and why/ why not?

HOW TO ALIGN DIFFERENT SPEAKERS: if you have full access to the dsp of the speakers, then its easy matchable. If you dont, i recommend, you dont mix speakers. If you have full access to dsp, do as following: 18" subbass, HPF at around 25hz to LPF 80hz, 15" Kickbass, HPF from 80hz to LPF 125hz Meassure speakers without any EQ. Meassure SPL, Phase and impulse-response Meassure and Align Speakers with their SPL, Phase and impulse response, each independently. Start with Impulse response, then Phase, then SPL. Its not just about phase or SPL. Impulse has to fit as well, to get matching Impulse (18" usually slower then 15") you have to add a certain delay to the speakers, before you start matching the phase. You have to try and error with Phase-meassure and Impulse-meassure, until the speakers match perfectly Use the same filter at the crossover frequency E.g: 18" sub: High pass filter e.g. 18dB Butterworth, Low pass filter: 24dB Linkwitz-Riley 15" sub: High pass FIlter has to be 24dB Linkwitz-Riley as well, to get a perfect summation. Sometimes, you have to add an all pass filter to the system to get the impulse and phase matched perfectly. add those filters in your dsp. you have to play with the Filtertypes to find the perfect filter for your system. Sometimes its Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley or Bessel, sometimes even a more unique one as Hartmann or LIR. Tops: Make sure, you have matching tops for your 15" sub. If not, repeat the procedure above with the 15" sub and the tops. EQ-Settings: DO those, after you matched phase and impulse perfectly and apply them on the whole speaker-group, not just to the single speakers. otherwise, your phase will shift again and you have mismatch. Always just EQ the whole, summed signal. Important: You usually meassure the speakers at a certain position. If you move the speakers and place them in a different setup, your meassure is not coherant anymore and you have to meassure again.

I’ve seen some recordings missing kick drums because the mix engineer simply decided to run the kick only to the sub aux. Most churches and bands have volunteers, and probably someone from the band is doing the mix. Having less aux to worry about is great. A good and leveled PA is much better than mixing a separate aux.

Will it change anything from all facing forwards and all facing into each other. One more question is for rooms. I have LA 4x KS21 at home, for home use only(6x8x3) room, What you think should be the placement? all 4 next to wall? evenly spaced in the middle? def not stereo.. your thoughts if possible :)

The last set-up, two side by side, with two side by side with a 5.66ft space (front to back) firing forwad.. Two questions.. 1) What's the space between left and right subs, also 5.66ft ? 2) Are you applying any delay on the front subs?

If it is doubling than shouldn't for white noise it should be an exponential increease?

Hi I’ve been trying to get my vocals right for singing on live streams, but when I listen back it always has that too in your face sound. I have pretty good pitch and the pitch is also slightly off listening back (although I’m picky) When I say in your face, it kind of feels intimidating to sing. It’s not because I’m not experienced enough as a singer, I don’t feel this way when I sing at a studio, or leading worship live. Do you think your tips help with that, or do you have recommendations for that specifically? I hope I’m making sense lol

What do you think of the Fulcrum CCX15, and how would they compare to speakers such as JBL VRX, L-acoustics or Meyers, in terms of resolution and overall sound quality? Does the dbx mic work the same ? I heard that they have the polarity inverted, does that affect the measurement readings?

As a DJ, this seems a nightmare as I could never rely on booth monitors as the sound just doesn’t make sense. In ideal I’d like to experience the exact sound as the dancers get. Dj being behind the subs - just gives the opposite bass and could never understand actual sound. Earphones are only for cueing, not for mixing. Am I the only one to see things this way?

You need to start mixing on real consoles instead of these entry level desks you keep mentioning.

Awesome video. Helping me learn. I’ve been trying to make 10 subwoofers work well together. I will work on phase and gain matching to see if I can get most out of my subwoofer summing. I’m trying to sum 3 different types of boxes so it may not be possible or give a desired result but something for me to play with. Do I need a controller to get proper measurements? In the past I have used a usb controller with in and out but lately I’ve been using umik and Bluetooth but I’m not getting a proper phase graph unless I use REW.
