I rlly didn't need to see this when i have 3 unfinished books- I've read a few danmeis myself and here are my recommendations for some categories: Political intrigue: Thousand autumns, stars of chaos Angsty: Erha (man this book rlly messed me up), Mo dao zu shi (my fav personally) Enemies => lovers: Qiang Jin Jiu, Case file Comedic/less politics and light: The disabled tyrant's beloved pet fish (this was the best I could come up with, a lot of historical Chinese BLs have political intrigue tbh) Lovers to enemies to lovers: Remnants of filth

I’m reading Married Thrice to Salted Fish It’s a gem!!!! Truly. Everyone should check it out. I don’t know why it isn’t more popular. It’s historical. And this synopsis is no spoiler bc this is the premise we’re given. The protagonist gets married to a dying young men by the empress in hopes of raising his spirits and heal him. Ultimately it’s no use. And despite the ticking clock and the unwillingness of the protagonist to be in this relationship he slowly develops feelings. But fret not! The legendary general comes back from the battle field to marry his wife back from widowhood. Our salted fish transmigrated! The general will die two years later and our ML gets transmigrated once again to the emperor this time. It’s a charming story of love and intrigue. ❤

Spoilers ahead regarding Yuwu and Husky. These are two of my favorite Danmei novels. I just love them so much. There’s even more connection between the two than you stated. For example, Murong Chuyi and Gu Mang are both related to the Chu family. Chu Lan is the boy who Chu Wanning was carved after. And Murong Chuyi’s blueprints were buried under the immortal wood tree that Chu Wanning was carved from, which is why Chu Wanning also designed similar things. And then the school that the characters form at the end is basically pre-rufeng sect and we know that because there’s a little Nangong boy in the group of new disciples. I love the little Easter eggs connecting the two. And the two are definitely Xianxia, which is my favorite. I know Husky is more popular, but I made it through the entirety of Husky without crying, but Yuwu broke me. I cried through two chapters straight near the end and then didn’t read for a month lol

Silent Reading is partially about human morals and I also see criticisms to capitalism littering the third book, it basically says that capitalism ties paradoxically to injustice, and the book illustrates that in such a realstic and grounded way. I was going to write an academic paper about it but I still need some clues from when I maybe finish the last book. Great that you recommended it ><

How I fell in the danmei world is that I got in k-dramas and the untamed, I watched word of honor to but I started with shows and I realised that the untamed has a book and I found more books about hot guys and I fell in love with it ( rn I have bought the svsss books 3/4 books I’m going to buy book 4 soon, it’s a really good book! )
