There's a rock song by Tom petty called. "I Won't Back Down"... I don't know if it was written about Christianity or not, but it has lyrics that mirror this devotional... And the message is being delivered to a woman... whomever she might be??? The song just came to me out of the blue... I have heard this song in the past, and hadn't thought about it in many, many years, but I've never thought of the lyrics in this vein... I guess i am noticing things more than when I was younger, and I think that am now viewing things from the Lords point of view and not so much from a worldly view???

I can relate to this and know that I am unworthy because of my sin nature... The atonement of Jesus' blood covers me and washed my sins away...

Test everything against the word of God...

I have learned that I have no control over whatever happens in this life, in my life. I know that HE is in total and complete control. I have learned that my fears and doubts and panic doesn't do one thing to make any bad situation better. It actually makes it worse. I have learned that my calm only comes when I fully place my faith, my trust, and my belief in the Lord to hold me firmly in his hands. Yet I do have these moments when I get busy and distracted with life and the doubts and fears creep back in. I have to stop and do as he commands, to " be still and know that I am God..." you Lord for your commands, your promises, and foe your holy voice found in your holy word. When I refocus my eyes upon the Lord, the calm and peace returns... Thank you Lord for your holy voice which is in your holy word...Without you Jesus I would be lost.

Great devotional... yes we do need trials to remind us who we belong to, to keep us humble and seeking him and serving and worshiping him. When things are going smoothly, we humans often become lazy, we sometimes slumber and sleep, and need to be awakened up by trials. These trials teach us lessons, lessons HE knows we need, but we do not know until after the fact, upon meditation in his word. I attest to being guilty and I praise God that he reminds me, chastized me when I stumble, and am blessed by renewal of my faith, repenting of my sins when I fail him. I pray that he removes my selfish human will and helps me again align my will to his will in my life...

I agree. The paths I've traveled has sometimes been through treacherous valleys, but it has been to teach me some lessons which I wouldn't have learned otherwise. God led me through and out of those valleys. I look back and I shudder at what could have happened to me... but God's hand of protection was over me. It had to be, or I wouldn't have survived it. I owe HIM nothing less than my heart.

I have been feeling it too...almost like a sense of foreboding. I'm praising the Most High, for He has everything under His control.

Well, the Lord is not one to disappoint… what this devotion is talking about is exactly what’s been going on here… yes you’re right, Satan does use people to attack… that’s been happening, we even had to call the police and this person is just crazy. But, as the devotion says, God has it under control. Without Him, this would have crushed us but God is amazing and we’re strengthened by Him, my daughter is actually now reading more scripture too. Praise God! So much going on right now, no time to tell you all of it but it all boils down to what this scripture says! Thank you brother! No weapon formed against us shall prosper! I came from that same era... I feel like I have been persecuted most of my life... resist the devil and he will flee from you...

I remember when I was a kid, that real faithful Christian was a NORMAL part of society, but as time passes, and I was raising my children, I could see a definite change in society, leaning away from Christianity... the world outside our private abodes don't feel safe anymore. And it is increasingly becoming less safe in our private abode. This world is not my home...I am held in his right hand... Sleep deprivation for me started when I had my first baby... I slept with open ears and one eye open...lol. Praying for my babies every time there were tornado warnings... I was a really nervous mom. I still pray for them, for their souls.

You are saying it like it is... Someone's trying to derail me as we speak, but I am stubborn and will not deny my LORD... I am far from perfect, but Jesus has been the only one who I have been able to fully trust, even when I have a season of doubts and fears, HE reassures me that I am his, either by calming my storm of fears and doubts, or by putting someone in my path to tempt and try my faith... There's so many false teachings in the cyber world it's staggering. today I started viewing what I HOPED was a true Christian devotional, forgot the name of it, and it started out sounding truthful, but as it went along, it subtly changed into a pretty package wrapped up and tied with a bright bow, but it sounded like a modern version of Jesus' temptation . I immediately left Satan behind, clicking out of there. People need to be careful with their viewing. reading the scripture and knowing the truth so that they will not be sucked into the snare of the tempter. Thank you Lord for your Holy word, the word of our Lord and Savior.

I also never post anything offensive,mean or vile. Even so my comments on other gospel bible(christian) channels get deleted and I have been told by utube a few times that I violated their community guidelines. It happens to many of us. Thanks so much for addressing this.😊

This is happening on numerous Christian channels. As a moderator we have been accused of being over zealous etc and I will know for a fact not one mod blocked them or removed their comment. This far I haven’t seen a similarity in the posts removed other than they are Christian. I have had my own removed, and been blocked. It is definitely something in the algorithm but not sure what is kicking it off.

Thank you for this video, such encouragement, which I needed to hear. And the later worldly people will deliberately go out of their way to get to know your weaknesses and deliberately go out of their way to place those particular temptations in your face... I am becoming better at resisting those temptations, but I am not perfect and need his forgiveness when I fail him. I need the Lord every hour of every day.

Ever since I shared the gospel with my daughter, sha has been excessively busy and our communication is practically non-existant. I have to contact her by text or phone... my heart is breaking for her, and I have prayed that her heart will be convicted to the point that she runs to the Lord for salvation.

Those subtle persecutions are as damaging if not more damaging as the physical sense of persecution. You are right about studying the scriptures. The Bible is Jesus voice speaking to us...

Don't you think that we sometimes doubt because we know that we are unworthy of his love and forgiveness, and because we see things from OUR perspectives and Not from God's view of us??? He sees us as who he has made us to be as he shapes us and molds us into the image of the attributes of Christ Jesus??? Maybe our lack of belief comes from a lack of knowledge? I didn't know about the fact that I am graven upon his hand, until I read about it in Scripture...YEARS after becoming a Christian. I studied the Bible and taught childrens level Sunday school and Vacation Bible school, attended adult couples classes, but the passages usually were centered around the most well known Bible stories , but didn't go into such great depth of discussion as I recall... Plus, I didn't have as much understanding as I have now. Although I am still learning, and know I will never know it all in this life.

My cats been agitated and clingy for days... but he has settled down today after the tornado/thunder storms have passed in the night. ... One of Gods many promises... I haven't actually seen Gods hand against mi enemies but I have heard about it years later, after I forgave them and put my angst behind me with the help of the Lord and not by my strength. .. I don't remember the exact book chapter and verse, but I remember reading that whomever reads the book of Revelation will be blessed. .. The rapture can be found in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 and also in 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. and in Matthew 24:37-41,

I have often said that the English language does not have words that can truly convey the depth and breadth of the love I have for my children. How much more so the love Christ feels for us? It is impossible. As a survivor and a sinner I can say this, secrets make you sick. Not just you but sometimes your marriage or the entire family. Remember that old saying? Tell the truth and shame the devil! So true.

In Jesus name Amen. It is all to the Glory of God that we are able to be here now with the trials we've all faced, we got through it... not because we are able, but because He is. I absolutely love that thought about why we go through these struggles... that some of it could be to instill compassion in us towards others. WOW.
