Scouts didn’t get caught up in the hype. Funny how Muncie and Bell were both number one picks instead of Griffin. Muncie was the best player in America that year.

As a kid I can still Remember when Rutgers beat Alabama in 1980. It was a shocker, after winning the National championship in.1979

Rutgers didn't beat Alabama in 1980. It was a close game, the final score was 17-13 and that game was played in New Jersey at Giants Stadium. Bama finished the season with a 10-2 record; the losses were to Mississippi State (final score was 6-3) and Notre Dame (final score was 7-0). Both losses were in November. Turnovers killed us in those 2 games.
