No, I haven't used it in a couple of years. From what I recall, the last 10 balls show on the screen. But then you can download the data to get the full history.

Some video editors will have a function that will do it for you. If not, look for a loud sound. I usually clap after I start recording so it's easy to see the spike in the audio. Then you move the clips to align them.

What do you think of your IN OUT device in retrospect? Do you still have it? Do you recommend it? What are the main drawbacks?
@benjaminrodriguez29184 ай бұрын
It's an amazing concept. The best part of using it live (I recommend 2 net devices) is an "instant replay" - where you can go and actually watch the last 10 balls, whether it was really in or out. I wouldn't use the alarm, as it didn't work reliably (i.e. false calls). Then again, I haven't used it in about 3 years, so maybe he has improved on it. And when I say "he" - from when I contacted him, it was a solo operation. Drawbacks - it can be a nuisance to set up and calibrate. I am not a fan of technology when it becomes a distraction. So you might look into SwingVision if you have an iPhone. I haven't used that, though. You also need to be a bit of a technology geek. You need to be able to update firmware, extract files, etc. All that being said - if you live in the continental US, I would be happy to give you mine. Like I said, I haven't used it in 3 years. Let me know if you want it.

I have Version 3.0. It's still crap. Don't go near it!
@TesseractOrion3 жыл бұрын
Buyer beware: This company will take your money, send you faulty goods then go completely silent. Devices are poorly manufactured, inaccurate and fragile. The warranty is a joke "6 months"! They do not respond to customer service requests or replace parts/units. This is on Version 3.0. I suspect Version 100.0 will still be worthless. As I said, Caveat Emptor. Hopefully the company will go bankrupt in due course due to its woeful failings....
@benjaminrodriguez29183 жыл бұрын
That's too bad. I always had good success when contacting them... in reality, "him"... it's just a one-man-show... which may be why you're not getting response. Have you tried using SwingVision? swing.tennis - that seems to be a pretty good alternative that has some momentum.

You've tested it with carbon fiber support?
@benjaminrodriguez29183 жыл бұрын
Yes - the carbon fiber support is a significant improvement. In fact, I would say it is necessary - the L bracket is basically useless as it moves too much when the net is hit.

That's awesome! I love that course... and I love Charis.... such a beautiful campus. After I played and made this video, I met the head groundskeeper who laid out the course. He said hole 7 is a mandatory dog-leg (though it wasn't labeled when I played, which is why I cut through the woods)... he also let me know that he had laid out the back 9 to go around the rest of the campus, but they hadn't made any tee boxes or put out any baskets. You might ask around and see if they have a map, or if they've opened up the back 9 yet. Blessings!

@@benjaminrodriguez2918 I tried to play again on the same day after watching your video here. I was able to play all except Hole 2 because there is no basket there to be found. Hole 6 I think is different and improved yet like so many holes here, it is up-down-up, and you better have a keen eye for exactly where your disc went or you will lose a lot of discs in this gorsey grass.

Where did you buy this device
@benjaminrodriguez29183 жыл бұрын
inout.tennis... be sure to get the carbon fiber cage. The L bracket moves way too much, but the cage is much more robust. We also found that 2 devices improves the probability of one device seeing a ball much better.... haven't tried the line devices.

Hi. Can you set the device higher? Like on the umpire chair for better overview? And would it work?
@benjaminrodriguez29184 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would improve the performance... it uses cameras, and the farther back you put them, the less resolution it would have... especially toward the far side of the court. I think the best setup is 2 devices on the net, using the carbon fiber cage.

At about 22:48 in the video, on your settings, it switches from "match" mode to "practice" mode, maybe that's why it wasn't that accurate after? I just ordered two of them with two line callers, and was searching about more information about it and found your videos
@benjaminrodriguez29184 жыл бұрын
I don't know why it does that... definitely a bug, but I think unrelated to accuracy. I think the biggest issue with accuracy is the small L bracket that comes with it. It only has one strap, and when you hit the net with the ball, the vibration moves the device. It's supposed to recalibrate itself, but... I wouldn't rely on it. We have since bought the Carbon Fiber bracket... it has a longer stem and two straps. I recommend the rubber straps... the hose clamps take too long to install (unless you're installing it permanently). I did an experiment where I overlaid the x,y coordinate data from the output file over the GoPro video... you can see the ball and dot get farther apart through the video... it looks to me like it's inline with the camera (i.e. indicates that the net shakes moved the camera). You can see that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/poK0f6Wdg7KlqtE
@absmith46394 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminrodriguez2918 Ok cool thanks for your reply, I actually just tested the ones I ordered out earlier today and then went back to watch your video. That overlay video looks pretty cool. I'm still trying to figure out the devices. We played a set and it seemed pretty good for most of the calls but didn't pick up a few of them, but the calls it did make, seemed accurate. I was thinking if it's in practice mode and you're serving, it might not pick it up. Also I was on a green court, and saw you were too, I wonder if it would work better on a blue hard court... but the thing you told me about the devices moving when it hits the net makes sense.. we just realigned it a few times during change overs because we kept pressing buttons on it and also charged it up a bit, but didn't think about the posts vibration.. but it missed some calls somethings, it didn't say out or in, that's the only thing I was wondering about... a few of them were maybe too far out so missed it, but one of them was close, I wonder an AI problem... or maybe it's better to power off the devices after each set because the memory gets too full and the CPU slows down like a computer.. I'm not sure.. but thanks anyways for the reply, I don't have any notifications turned on but just happened to check back now

Ahmm...are we thinking the mph on these serves are accurate, or does it need some sort of calibration? It looks like you are barely tapping them in and registering in the mid to high 80s.
@benjaminrodriguez29184 жыл бұрын
Good question... it depends on how nerdy of an answer you want. There's no way to calibrate speed. The only calibration is to find the court lines, and I think everything else is based on that. I did this video with the "L" bracket that came standard with the device. I found that when you hit the net, it moves the In/Out device quite a bit, and it loses its calibration (with the court). I have since bought the carbon-fiber bracket, which is much more robust. I think the carbon-fiber bracket is a must. They should just ditch the L bracket and sell the carbon fiber housing. I have also since learned that when you sync your session file with the cloud, you can download the raw data. It includes LOTS of data, including: ballSpeed: The speed of the ball in mph calculated out of the racket impactSpeed: The speed of the ball in mph when it bounces Here's a couple examples from one session: "ballSpeed": "80.012", "impactSpeed": "57.152" "ballSpeed": "79.513", "impactSpeed": "56.795" "ballSpeed": "87.212", "impactSpeed": "62.294", So, it's possible that the In/Out is displaying ball speed off of the racket, not impact speed. If I do another experiment, I will be sure to compare what the display says against the file to see which it displays. But beside that, it's using the camera to try and determine ball speed... I don't know how accurate that will really be with ONE camera...

The battery symbol is buggy, I think. I don't remember exactly how I had this set up, but I have been using a 10,000 mAh battery pack, because one battery won't last an entire match. So I may have had the battery pack plugged in...
@benjaminrodriguez29184 жыл бұрын
I contacted In/Out about the video issue at 2:55 - where it doesn't see the court. He responded that this should definitely NOT be happening. The video window is set based on where the court is "found". That explains why it wasn't seeing any balls on the left (south) side. I can't help but wonder if it saw the fence-line and thought it was the baseline?
@benjaminrodriguez29184 жыл бұрын
I used the In/Out again today. I put the feet on it, which lifts it off of the net wire a bit more - it hardly moved at all when the ball hit the net. However, you can’t store the L bracket in the case with the feet on... you have to take them off and put them back on every time.
