I'm seriously considering just trying to make my own thing. I hate blackberry style keyboards because they are along the narrow edge of the phone, I want one that slides out of the long edge so I can actually type without mashing four keys at once, or using a stylus to press the buttons like the damn Cybiko.

Love it, just a thought why not utilise MagSafe. You can then have a normal case to keep the phone protected and it doesn’t have to be as bulky

Guys, the idea is good, but why this shi---ty screen? Can we have amazon fire tablet and make ir super nice versus 3d printed crapy box? My wife would not allow this in the kitchen!

Hi Rj great video. What would be great is also an instructional video discussing dialling in and how to use the different profiles . A deep dive into the software would be unique and something that I can’t find anywhere on KZbin

Try a slide track with an ess bend, shifing the keyboard up on the z-axis. So when deployed, the keyboard moves up and flush with the screen. That mechanical engineering might be a bit tricky...but I don't think it would be that much more effort for a premium slide.

just made my own, instead of making it a case for a phone i made the slider a really thin plate that sticks onto a the back od any phone case. The width of the keyboard and the print is exactly the width of my phone in its case so it works really well. V2 is gonna be half as thick as my design has room to move the battery and usb connector above the keyboard instead of behind it.

It would be cool that with this mod you can potentially add a dual boiler. That would be the ultimate setup for me.

Hello, thank you for the video, but when I did the steps and inserted my SD card to my rpi 5, It started blinking green quickly then game red light and returned to blinking fast green then showed red again and then it started blinking slowly after and staying static green, what is the problem? I have a 5V 5A power supply and the same SD card as yours

You said you weren't an audiophile, but proceeded to show off a very respectable Schiit stack and said you prioritize being transported over true reference sound. Sound engineers seek out true reference sound. Audiophile seek out specific sound signatures. The most expensive headphones in teh world aren't reference at all. So I got bad news for you bud, you're one of us audiophiles

You know how when you turn the temperature up in the shower, and it gets too hot so you turn it down, and then up... well a PID learns those ramps in temperature so you can set a temp and it will control the heating element to hit that temperature.

Clicks has introduced keyboard covers for the iPhone since 2014, but it seems that no one wants to go back to the 2000s. I don't want to sound mean to you but that's the reality. I don't see any reason to carry such a brick in my pocket just to press a physical keyboard..

Hi @rjbernaldo_ excellent videos on the gaggiuino mods. I'm looking at modding the Silvia V6 with the gaggiuino - any thoughts? One of the reasons using the Silvia is I like the bigger boiler and powerful steam for that silky milk. Thanks

great work! if there is enough space beneath the keyboard, you could house an extra battery (it could also help weight distribution, but it would turn the phone into an even heavier brick), directly connect that to the phone and then have a usb-c passthrough that also connects to the phone. love the trackpad on the blackberry keyboard. It's sad to see that LG as a company has also died, it used to be one of the most creative smartphone manufacturers, not shying away from random innovation and "gimmicks" as the industry mags would call it, somehow their hardware innovations were laughed at and the "poor marketing" killed the phone division, I'd like to see other giants take up on risks once more, phones can be productivity pocket computers, but they lack that physical tactility PC keyboards have.

A Bluetooth keyboard that connects via MagSafe is the way to go. Doesn’t have to be connected all the time. Can store easily. Keeps the slim phone design.

This looks totally amazing. I really want to see this project/ones like it go further, because i love sliding keyboards and miss them a ton. I would really like to see if you could tackle a version of this that's landscape, as well! open source hardware is just awesome. keep up the good work!! also just a small criticism, but you should probably make the music quieter in next videos <3

Flattening the ZitaoTech keyboard would solve a lot of the egronomics. Moving the battery and some electronics above the buttons (effectively always under the sliding iphone case). That would be quite easy to do.
