It is very common to use the Depot maps. They did publish those publicly for everyone to use and they are fairly accurate. Which ever map you chose to run, either locally or on a server, it is advisable to have the maps printed or up on a second screen so you can reference them. The dispatch screen in sim is not accurate and does not show everything.

I get that. If you join NorCal or The Mateo server, the times are based off California time which is 7-8 hours behind the UK. Mohawk and Selkirk (MoSel) or in the North Eastern US so about 3-4 hours behind. That might be a better choice. Or you could just stay up all night :)

Thanks for letting me know that I misunderstood your question. With UP or BNSF you have almost a clear understanding of where a train is heading by the TAG or TRAIN SYMBOL, eg. BAKBAR for BNSF is Bakersfield to Barstow. For UP we would see YRWC for Yermo to West Colton. What makes things confusing is the some railroads consider all route to be either East to West while other consider there routes to be North to South. My point is that I am and had to teach myself not to worry about that, just to go by the TAG. For NorCal which is a UP route, it is West to East. Roseville, CA to Sparks, NV respectively. For MoSel, its East to West, Selkirk to Dewitt. Getting familiar with any route is key. Sometimes looking at the maps from Depot+ helps since at the bottom of each page they will tell you the directions based upon the Railroad. So ultimately it spending a lot of time looking at maps and reading operational guides. You are welcome to jump into my discord and leave me a message there. Honestly, I can't answer that. Although this is a great model railroad simulator, it wasn't what I was looking for in something that gives complete freedom. Run8 does just that. Trainz, does not have a train generator. Run8 does. I am not saying Trainz is bad, it's just not what I was looking for.

Are you playing solo or on a server. If you save the location standing next to a train while on a server, it is the location that is saved. Starting a solo player game, you can load that saved game which loads the location. If there is a train there during solo play at the time it’s save, it should still be there. If you load the save while on a server, it loads the location but the train may not be there due to someone else moving it.

As a matter of fact, yes we are. The server is up and has been for a week. There are some configurations that need to be done before launch it. So, with Mateo, High Green, NorCal, MoSel and Hank’s Pittsburgh line, we will have all the maps covered.

Update: The Mohawk/Selkirk server is one step closer to being opened for public use. The bot that assigns individual passwords has been tested with some success. Also, a new Discord server has been created just for MoSel. Information will be released on my regular Discord server when testing has been finalized

It is close. Industries are set. Locals are have been tagged. Now to configure the AI trains and make sure train routing is set then we are good.

Hang in there. CSX and NS train Symbols confuse me. They seem so arbitrary. If you are interested, the Mateo server has a SE server called THE HIGH GREEN.

They actually took effect immediately after I manually typed them in. Using Excel added something when I cut and paste.

There are so many things to do in Run 8. I call it “my virtual model railroad”. Run a road train one day. Work a yard the next. Deliver cars with a local or work on scenery which in is tweaking industries or adding new tags to the routes. Some much to do, so little time.

Is an enhancement that can be found on the Run8 enhancement discord server. The file will replace another which means it changes that file on all Run8 maps.

Base game at the coal mine, the loaded cars gets moved to those tracks, it's not the mod doing it.

Great question. There are two solutions to this issue. First is to find the train in the AI menu and change the “Tag for Industries” attribute to yes then select which locals you want the cars for. This will change the tags and the car types based on the industries. The second way is to manually change the tags on the train that is all ready in Barstow to far distant cities so they can be sorted over the hump.

It was supposed to be a two hour Run8 stream from the Mateo server. Since they didn’t update at start time, I went with Railroader. Then it turned into a multiplayer session with Chris. It’s all good.

I missed the Amtrak MP15? Does that mean there is a NS MP15 hidden somewhere?

Why do they need a PR person, the Amtrak MP15 is under Amtrak becasue it's not a freight locomotive. It makes sense to me.

@@dsflyerds sorry, those were two separate comments. The PR or marketing person had nothing to do with where the Amtrak MP15 was located. I was just meaning that Run8 Studio could benefit from better marketing.

Depends on if I have other downloads going on like Windblows updates. Otherwise upgrading to an i7 has improved rendering speeds even though it’s only a 9th gen.
