If, like me, you have a vivid but possibly fading memory of a young, classy, warm-voiced and quite attractive Indian-British lady who did a song very similar to the one in this video, which you found when you searched for 'indian scat singing' because you couldn't think of any better keywords to use, and then you ended up at this video of a bunch of boring old jazz cats instead of that Indian hottie with the fenomenal vocal performance, and you're frustrated because no one, not even here in the comments, is acknowledging her much earlier and much better and warmer and smoother and sexier performance, or even confirming that it has ever existed at all, and now you're beginning to doubt yourself and you wonder if maybe it was just your imagination -- well, let me assure you that your memory is very true, that you're only one mouse-click away from rediscovering that beautiful artist, whose name is Sheila Chandra and whose song is called "Speaking in Tongues", of which multiple versions can be found here on KZbin, but this one on her own channel is a good start, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4jGnKh3n812oK8

Wow. So great. Heard these guys many times and with Joni Mitchell. The group must have gone through mega gallons of shampoo and conditioner even on one tour.

Onkel Po’s club in Hamburg. A place with a vibe. Where Al Jarreau launched practically 5 years earlier. Why did that time create the music that transformed us all? Where did it go? No one in this video that night cared a kick about social media or what to E it was. We all just listened- and want d more. Some of even took up our own musical journey. Man it was great. I need to look forward but looking back teaches me so much - and it seems more alive than ever. I’m grateful I can studio this music now and learn from it. What a gift.

There used to be a performance of "Airstream" from this same Hamburg (1980) gig. Could whoever has the tape of this concert please put that song up once again?!

This amazing way of uttering sanskrit (or hindhi or marati , ..) syllables is actually very close to bija mantras used to awaken Kundalini and actually when Kundalini is awakened thoses sounds come spontaneously ! Indian classic music is great and come to us from the oldest ages of humanity as well as the Indian culture and philosophy ! Incredible Inia !

Don't know how I missed this piece.. been following PMG/got most albums/CDs since American Garage.. guess it was overshadowed by something else. This is the original lineup when they were just "kids". THANK YOU for uploading this.

He asistido a tantos conciertos de Pat...Pero cuanto me hubiese gustado estar en éste...Veo a esos integrantes del grupo, los que aparecen en la contraportada de American Garage y se me ponen los pelos de punta.

We are so effing lucky this video exists. I missed this lineup by one year (saw them in 1981) and as much as I love what followed, this lineup and this set are it for me.

Good looking bloke with the essential big hair. I can think of plenty of better players but people listen to music with their eyes and always will do.
