I like it! Does the overhead mic pickup a lot of hits on your toms/snare? Or is that non-existant?

That is a gem. Darkest 20" I've ever heard. Nice balance of stick and wash. Killer bell. I love that particular Sabian era. I have three 16" "Hand Hammered" crashes and they're some of my favorites.

Guys, how can you say that it is a product for producing?? With a Generator at =<65Hz -12dB => and ~65dbspl the bass reflex is already mocking me... Ok the image, but... to use them you need a high pass at 100Hz or listen to music without bass...booh

Hey mate, trying the same, I thought of using all inputs to round up to 6 mics(snare, kick, double_splitted overheads, and double_splitted toms) which would fill my 4 inputs, also tried them in the next 2 lines as double stereos, but cannot find the solution to use the m1 m2 aux fx combo to get them clearly and separate through the mix for the DAW. Any ideeas?

Hey, sorry, sold it a long time ago, can’t remember how it looks. I would suggest contacting A&H. They should be able to help.

I get that sound even at 50% volume when playing 808 style bass drum sounds through them (under 50 Hz). I too find it very annoying but have learned to work around it, saving the low frequency stuff for my larger monitors. For everything above 50-60 Hz they work very well.

My 1 year old is already starting to drum and I’ve been shopping around for low volume cymbals for him to use instead of my Sabian XSR Monarch set. I don’t trust just having him wear noise reducing ear muffs and I think after seeing multiple people demo this set, I’m sold.

Yes! I bought them because of your video! I’ve been looking so long to find good sounding low volume cymbals. If you want them to sound even better add a piece of gaffers tape on the bottom right under the bell, COMPLETELY changes the game! Helps bring clarity and enhances the tone greatly!

I'm replacing a pair of NS10MM with a pair of these. In my opinion this is a non-issue. Sure, this sounds terrible, but I'm sure this is played loud, and you can make any monitor sound like crap if you play it too loud. Get the right monitors for the job. This is a $300 set of 25W monitors.(!) Wanna play bass and bass drum loud? - Get suitable monitors for that! Play these at a level they can handle. You may think that they should be able to handle this, but note the very low bass drone underneath the bass drum. The bass drum and that drone makes for tremendous undertones when they're played together. (The drone may be part of the drum sound - you don't pause long enough for me to hear if it is.) There's a LOT of energy in play down there.
@noelsharp2 ай бұрын
I know from owning these monitors that just about everything below 50 Hz causes this odd sound even at 50% volume. It’s not an issue for me because I simply use other monitors or studio headphones when the very, very low frequencies need to be heard.
@torbenlysholm12 ай бұрын
@@noelsharp Thanks for sharing your experience with it. I'll make sure to be able to return the set if it works the same for me. I'm currently considering a pair of Genelec X010 or X020 instead. I have a pair of 1037 as my mains so I would like something other than Genelecs to check mixes on something based on other principals, but I really don't need anything powerful, so the iLouds would be very fine.

What are they ? They sound REALLY GOOD. I got the (over priced) Zildjian quiet pack bc they felt really good for being so quiet. I find the better a muted cymbal sounds the louder it is. I've played some where there was no reason to call them "quiet" or muted

Yeah but that speaker at that price and at that size with that big of a sound is a feat of engineering. The bass and fullness that's coming out of that thing should not be, per physics.

This is called port chuffing. Despite the name, these speakers are designed to be played at lower volumes for critical listening. Try using the high pass at 50hz and turning them down.

that distortion noise is normal. 1st I would have them that loud as I would use for a nearfield reference monitor

Apparently, if you stick a piece of foam in the port holes, it’ll stop. The speakers are great, but poorly built at that port area.
