As a former CSIA and CASI instructor, I completely agree here! Getting people stoked to get out and have the confidence to tackle new terrain is super important, but there is so much more to a ski trip than just skiing, the apres and stories shared with new an old friends are what make for life long skiers. Rad video!

So for those of you that dont know, this is a snowmaker. it sprays water into the air, witch is then mixed with the fan to blow it far. if its below freezing snow will form, ski resorts use this a lot. the price is tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention the high water bills, electricity, and water pipes.

In one paragraph, I can teach someone to ski so they can understand it. You are standing on the peddles of a bicycle with your hands on the handle bars with the front tire pointing down the hill. Take your weight off the Right foot. Take your weight off the Left foot. Gravity and the ski will do the rest. If you're going too fast, lean against the tongue of your boot to add more weight to the front of the ski, take your weight off the Right foot, lift your Right cheek and set it on the edge of the Right Barstool. Lifting your cheek will keep your upper body vertical and your legs will be at a steep angle so you are hard on the edges and the ski will bend and turn more. That, is how you think about skiing. You think the same from beginner to racer.

Hm... ok. Where the hell is that ski resort? Pretty impressive mountains in the background. Your approach would be great on some consumer model slalom race skis. -Blake

what happened to Panorama village.....very disappointed when visited last year.. it felt like the time has stopped when Intrawest left... not much done and everything shows it's age...next time will stay close to Bow river....no point going to Columbia r. anymore..sad...up the stream.. Golden is still "kicking" though...haha

miss the old half pipe you guys used to build many many years ago, last time i saw a half pipe here was maybe 22 years ago, (first time i came here, and i entered into the half pipe comp around then)

Nice Preview! The course doesn't seem very technical; especially for a Canada Cup race. I would tend to remove a lot of the uphill too if that were possible. Losing your chain on this race seems like a huge nightmare.
