A glitch we use to level the sword, Mea Culpa infinitely. In this run I put it to level 5 by abusing menu overlay. Exiting when the cutscene plays > reload > run back to the altar and repeat

UpCC is how I hit so fast. You cancel the up attack with a crouch, for Up-attack Crouch Cancel. I am working on a full detailed breakdown video of the run for the future, thanks for checking my run :)

I did end up taking it faster, my new run is 13:17 and is way cleaner ;)

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah man I didn't put in nearly enough practise for Devotion before the marathon, but it made for a great ending anyway. I had a blast with the runs and the event, and was happy to show off both the games.

It's totally possible on controller =), I just always used keyboard and I can do it way more consistently with it

@@xPenitentOne the basic technique is holding up with the d-pad, press attack and cancel the attack by pulling the thumb stick down. The thumbstick will override the up input. If you're playing a version that can bind movement keys, you can also rebind to something that is preferable like how MelyOnTheAir does it, she shows her binds in her recent hitless tutorial. I'll probably make a short video on different ways considering I get asked a fair amount :)

Yeah it totally breaks it open. Conveniently not being counted as a unique item helps too

This is in v1.0.5, lots of things are broken. The skips you are seeing are wrong warps via loading the save ontop of the already running save. So far we haven't got a way to skip the elevator or the Crisanta fight.

Thanks for the kind words! That's an interesting thing to note, thanks for sharing. If I ever try the demo again, I'll need to try it out. I most of the time avoid using the sword throw where I can, since it feels (I haven't tested) slower to go through the whole animation in most cases, rather than jump and dash.

Thank you, for making this game =D. You've done an insanely good job with the movement in this one, it's pretty much everything I want from a movement based game. The areas are fun to go through, they look great and the characters have charm. The mechanics are super nice too. I admittedly didn't spend a whole lot of time trying out the demo (just over 1 hour), so I didn't fully learn the mechanics. I had a lot of fun regardless. This also meant I didn't apply much learning to the fights, so I would take my criticism a bit lightly (if at all), I just learned enough to brute force through them. So I probably could've learned a little bit more of the fighting mechanics and improved on them. I am really looking forward to what you make of the game though.

Any% is just chaos, reaching one of the last items in like 7 minutes :D. Thanks for watching! Copied from another comment in-case you are interested- The game is mega broken on 1.0.6 version. The main glitches in order are - 0:00 Menu storage to skip first cutscene - 0:39 UpCC (isn't a glitch, but just cancelling upslash with crouch - UpslashCrouchCancel) - 2:42 IMC/Infinite Mea Culpa. It uses menu storage on screen transition to let you exit the mea culpa cutscene and infinitely use the altar to level your sword. - 5:32 Super jump (TPO speed on y-axis increases the longer you're paused in the middle of ledge grab animation) - 5:36 Menu storage then door transition into shop to store the main menu, which lets you load a save on screen transition to wrong warp - 6:21 Zip (super jump with collision disabled from climbing a ledge) - 8:17 Hover (pause before wall stab lets you hover) - 8:23 Item catch on lever (swing sword lets you interact with many things when TPO isn't actually standing at them) - 12:52 Death storage (exit menu just before TPO dies, this was the original method to wrong warp) It lets you load your save file in Escribar's room, placing you past the fight Rocher has an excellent video covering most of these in great detail in his 15:36 run if you're interested in learning more - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYDPn4lqZdZlgJo You can also visit speedrun.com or join the discord through that for more.

Thank you! It's called UpCC or Up-attack crouch cancel. You do an up attack and cancel the animation with crouch. Refer to the keyboard overlay in slow-mo and it should give you an idea :)

Thank you! A lot of things break when we freeze time. Notably in this run, you can't get through the Mother of Mothers bell-door. So we have to unfreeze the game at that point.

@@Zrylics I’ve been practicing the elevation glitch, I really wanna try this run soon, the speedrun tech in this game is so insane. I was in VC with xanathar the other day (they’re another speedrunner for this game) and they showed me a ton of different stuff about how you kill the bosses and how you go through crimson rains and stuff like that, I’ve never been so interested in speedrunning before this game
