I've seen Vision Quest probably 100 times. One of my best friends in high school in the 80's was a wrestler and watch it, and that's how I found out about it.

You were the perfect adversary, Frank. You weren’t a “bad guy”. The only thing I’ve said, as a former NJ wrestler, is that Louden would not have gotten you on your back with 27 seconds left. But that was the script. Anyway, it has stayed with me all my life.

I love that Ralph Macchio talks so gushingly about the movie even though he really doesn't do much in it. He has some lines early in the film, but for the most part he just sits at the table.

so many people have NEVER even heard of “vision quest” .. truly a lost classic !! if you’re like me…. a wrestler in high school in the 80’s…. you watched that movie over and over … i remember it even playing in the locker room on vhs during a wrestling tournament at weigh-ins. and yes !!great bunch of young actors .. who went on to do many great things….. i’m 52…. graduated in 1989 ! and i’ve been watching that movie at least once a year my entire life !! and yes…. everybody wanted to be a “shute” a feared wrestling bad ass that could “hold his mud” 😃😃😃 🙏🏻 shot out to all of you 80’s kids… that remember the best decade in HISTORY.. for music… movies … and LIFE !!!! “only the young” the soundtrack to our lives.

I’m jealous that I wasn’t in high school in the 80’s. I’m sure this hit even harder then with the times. I was introduced to this film in the early 2000’s by wrestling coach and I haven’t looked back since! Classic. I actually met Shute and have a picture with him. Check it out it’s on our IG page.
