Seems there’s a lot of “fanboys” for the V3 Pulsar on many of the Duramax groups and forums all gushing about the V3 being superior to the Derringer…but NONE can show solid, black and white proof or testing comparisons how it’s better in all aspects. Yea it may dump more fuel for more HP but there’s no failsafes mentioned or have I seen anywhere on their website where it doesn’t affect the ECM after removal in the event warranty work needs to be done. I’ll take my Banks products over all others any day of the week! Love my Derringer, Pedal Monster w/iDash and Ram Air CAI any day!

Awesome! I have the archoil ar6200 and ar9100 for my 81 rabbit diesel, my 2002 excursion 7.3 and my tractor. I bought a brand new 2023 jeep grand cherokee the other day and I'm wondering if I can put AR9100in my oil right away or do I have to wait until the motor is broke in? Would seem like a friction modifier would affect proper break in?

did you have the pulsar on by itself at all? my main question is what does it do for your MPG. IDK if having both of those on at the same time would alter any results

When I tow our 8K travel trailer my ‘20 L5P regens will go a little above 800 miles without additives and generally ~600 miles as a grocery getter. This is due to higher exhaust heat letting the DPF burn off without the need for a regen cycle. This is normal behavior. The truck will always regen between 800 - 820 miles regardless of soot level; that’s what the ECM is set for. As far as fuel mileage, diesel fuel quality varies much more than gasoline and I notice differences between brands. I have my best fuel economy with summer blend premium diesel fuel from KwikTrip (WI, MN, IA, and IL ONLY) and Loves truck stops typically are not as good. I've not seen much, if any, improvement with additives. when I do use additives (winter), I typically use Stanadyne Performance Blend to control cold weather fuel issues. I haven't tried Archoil, maybe I need to to see if i have better fuel economy with it. I’ll be curious to see if there will be an improvement in regens and fuel economy now that I have a Banks Ram Air installed. Initally, it looks like soot levels are lower but no appreciable fuel economy difference.

Thank you for the review. You experienced what our testing revealed... that the Pulsar over-fuels, causing sever engine derates. You get a few seconds of extra power only to have it taken away moments later. The Derringer adds significant power without over-fueling because it also manages boost in order to maintain the leanest possible air fuel ratio. It also adheres to factory EGT limits. It limits its own added power so the truck's ECM doesn't have to. We look forward to your next review! Fingers crossed it's the PedalMonster or Ram-Air intake.
