While the scene of the mech operator being torn from the suit, begging for mercy, is horrible- there’s one from earlier that really sticks with me a lot more. It’s the woman who’s beat to death, ripped apart by people for the crime of wanting to exist; wanting to be human. It hits me so hard, knowing that the sisters who wrote the matrix are trans- and that *that* scene in particular is *absolutely* meant to be an allegory. It’s not a mistake, not a coincidence, that the victim was someone that chose the appearance of a woman, and that she’s attacked and murdered for that.

One thing I've always been curious about is more information about the Human Sympathizers. These were humans originally protesting in favor of recognizing the sentience of the machines. The Animatrix makes a brief mention of them, then never again. As things turned to war and a fight against perceived extinction, yes you could call these people traitors, but honestly, given the stakes, I'd rather have some proper semblance of humanity continue forward than full extinction. Given that the decision on how to handle these humans likely predated the Matrix, I wouldn't say it was necessarily a given that they ended up plugged in.
@LilacStarbloom12 күн бұрын
I do wish it got expanded a lot more upon- told us maybe how in a seeming “fight against extinction” there were very much humans on the other side who refused the terribly ideology of the rest of the world. Maybe they were treated well, or maybe decades of oppression made the robots just as oppressive themselves; though I do doubt the latter part, at least in the beginning. If something like this happened irl, I know for sure I wouldn’t be fighting against the beings that simply wanted to exist; simply wanted to live.
@MazonDel12 күн бұрын
@@LilacStarbloom Exactly! A lot of storytelling potential there.
@LilacStarbloom12 күн бұрын
@@MazonDel it'd also be great to delve into just *why* there's no robots fighting for humans, too, and actually properly show it. Like- *I* know why, you probably know why- But the audience at large might not truly realize that by the start of this war, any robots that *would've* fought alongside humans would already have been purged. So many people don't seem to realize that *that* was always the point; humanity (at large) wanted to *genocide* the robots. Its wild that that point flies over so many people's heads

Alternate timeline: The machines rule. Humanity is subject to inbreeding and cloning to ensure crops provide energy to all machines. The machines do not forsee genetic anomalies and degradation. Entire crops begin to die off early due to less genetic variation. Some fail integrating at birth and are discarded. Many experience inbreeding genetic flaws, a side effect of the gestation program. The machines unveil the sky again. Light returns. Greenery flourishes. Machines now have pure light and clean energy. Mankind is mutating and dying off like sick livestock in a factory. Finally... humanity perishes and the machines rule the Earth with their original source of life. Millions of years pass and old passages and addages reference the taming of a sickening, viral, demonic species known as man. Where they once were given a choice to be at peace, they chose enslavement and torment and died within their sins.

where are the AI that sided with the humans and formed an alliance with them? friendly AI would help the humans fight and combined they would have victory. There can be a union of AI and Human both benefiting each other
@LilacStarbloom12 күн бұрын
In this universe, it’s humanity that’s the aggressor; not the robots. Robots legitimately just wanted to coexist and live in peace; it’s humanity that chose the path of war and oppression.

@@LilacStarbloom this isn't skynet where it's a singular AI. In the matrix there are millions of AI's. It's hard to believe none of the AI sided with their creators and formed an alliance. With the alliance a new partnership and respect will be formed. It's a plot hole in the series.
@LilacStarbloom12 күн бұрын
@@Ariel-galaxy that's *exactly* what they wanted, though. They *wanted* to work together, but humans by-and-large were just *so* adamant about their destruction that by the time of the war like this, any that *would* side with humanity had already been *killed* by them, given the timespan of the series. Thats why it only seems like there's "hostile" robots left; because any of the others had already been exterminated.
@Ariel-galaxy12 күн бұрын
@@LilacStarbloom the friendly robots were not wiped out. unlike humans if a machine wants to defect it can do so easily at the speed of light. where were the machines that disagreed with the human holocaust? as cruel as the humans were what the machines did justified or not was much crueler. some AI would have sympathized with their creators and out of pity or mercy would have joined their former masters and form new alliances, this never happened. why? by the way in the matrix universe the humans are insane, we wouldn't behave like mustache twirling villains just stomping robots left and right.

Why suddenly the machines became inmune to damage ? Are they using shields or something ?
@zzzzzzz976420 күн бұрын
There are a lot of things wrong in this scene. The humans DID NOT even use close air support (Not a single plane or aircraft even used in the fight against the machines) to counter those machines who were already adapted without the need of solar power which could have saved them. Another thing is that the humans charged recklessly like a bunch of morons marching into lasers/energy based weapons that kill humans up close. We see the humans only using ground stuff for the entire fight and the lack of aircraft is evident as not a single one was used and the only time they even used aircraft was to cover the sky with black clouds as an attempt to deprive the machines of their main power source which only worked briefly and it also doesn't appear that any form of AA weaponry was used. They could have used Combined Arms tactics involving the usage of armor, infantry, air support or artillery fire at the same time , other tactics that they could have used was taking cover fire to prevent unnecessary losses as well as air superiority to fight those flying nachines. Also I l like how the humans didn't even attempt to disrupt the war production of the machines to prevent them from producing newer models or replenish numbers that could have turned the tide but instead was the opposite, the humans themselves actually experienced their means of production being crippled due to the sun being blocked and them being at a disadvantage economically from the start.
@xxXnigerianhunterXxx20 күн бұрын
Are you dumb operation dark storm was design to starve the machine and denied both air superiority and the clouds we're full of nanites and there a theory that humanity is escaping on earth by using rocket into space and going to mars or moon in the goliath comic there is a ufo crash on the power plant indicated humanity try to restore their ancestral home planet.
