nah, we call it tit hill, i think its real name is glauchnaben, just find a pub called the fuechside inn, once there have a look out at the mountains, its the big one that looks like tit, just park at thepub and make your way up the hill, takes a couple of hours, but well worth the hike up, for the run down. if that doesnt take your fancy just pick a mountain, you will be surprised at how amazing deer are at making dh tracks.

There must be loads of awesome trails in the north east. I'm hoping to go up that way next summer maybe even this winter. Where is the trail near Banchory please? Just had a look on multimap. Is it the one coming down from General Burnett's monument?

is the downhill track suitable for a hardtail

Thats a great vid, really captures just how miserable pitfichie is.... I hate it, it's not a race course, it's pure luck, especially when its wet which is always. I don't even go to spectate now, I go to an unknown 5 to 6 minute natural downhill out banchory way? fast as your balls will let you and could compete with FW if it had lifts, theres very little of that irratating slow off camber wet root and wheel clamping rock infested track we call pitfichie just flat out sheer delight.
