Just drove one from Orlando to Indianapolis. Average was 35 mpg hotrodding the entire way. Was very impressed with how it handled the hills in Tennessee.

Shes Still Rolling Strong. I started using Shell Rotella 15w-40 2nd day i got it. (in the hot summer months) and 10w-40 in the winter. Only uses a little bit of oil. less than half a quart / 3K miles. Transmission needed some lucas, 2 years ago. Would slip when temps were over 90 in FL,. but its been great since the thick stuff was added.

Sometimes the camera doesn't do a good job of representing acceleration. I've owned both turbocharged and supercharged vehicles. The only one that hit harder than that. The 2003 SVT Cobra 🐍( about 4-5 seconds into the run, as that was a dual overhead cam.) the red eye burys you 6 feet under, on the initial hit. Never felt anything quite like that.

I'm looking at buying one with 200k miles its a 94 with the 3.4 and a manual, how do these engine and transmissions last?
@devilcharger2 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin thanks for your question and comment. Historically, the 3.8 series 2 gets all of online accolades within the v6 Camaro community. And rightfully it should and earned its place. However, the 3.4 L (especially when maintain properly) can go 300,000 plus miles. I currently have 305K on the clock. When buying any car, taking a couple minutes to look at the vehicle history, service records, as well as a quick visual inspection is important. There are free tools such as the Carfax car care app which will give you instant access to its service records, if reported throughout the life of the vehicle. Personally I run 15W40 Shell rotella t5. With 200,000 miles I would definitely recommend running a thicker oil. However, that is only my opinion. As far as the manual transmission goes, those are becoming harder and harder to find. Nice. I wouldn't recommend shifting it like you're running the quarter mile all the time. Take your time shifting through the gears when cold. Make sure the gear oil has been serviced. Also make sure to check your clutch.
