Are both pickups P90 Buckers? Is the bridge pickup a "Heavy P90 Bucker?"

Thnx man! I just replaced the pickups, so the pots and wiring are normal prs (500K). I used a simple setup for this: a Tech21 Trademark 60 on the clean channel (which is one of the best transistoramps around) with a Flyrig 5 in a little breakup overdrive and a Mxr chorus. Really simple, so the guitar can react on what you're playing .... ;-) Cheerzz!

Great Video! I still have my SG 500 from the late 70's. It's still my favourite guitar. It never needed any upgrades - it was perfect when it was made. The Japanese craftsmanship is unmatched. I looked at several Gibson Les Pauls back when I was shopping for a new guitar back then and the Yamaha won out. I had to have it!

@@hanselmers I put Seth Lovers in an Elite Strat and loved them. On Seymour Duncan website, the sonic difference is listed as a slightly more pronounced treble frequency than the antiquity. I like the idea of "new" PAF style pickups because the musicians who were my heroes in the 60s and 70s were not using aged pickups.

I sold the guitar while ago, but in my memory it was solid ... it sure sounded good ;-) .. low frets, long scale, so more a chord or riff guitar then a solo/bending one in my opinion, although everthing is of a subjective matter ofcourse ....

@@groovymoon Hi i envy you deeply. Unfortunately the re-issues of the SG model are very expensive. I really do not understand why Yamaha has changed the amazing SG shape for the Revstar series There is one characteristic of beauty that is symmetry The Revstar body is asymmetrical and so much less nicer than the SG body. It seems like beauty must be reserved only to the rich people ? I was even thinking about buying a Revstar and take it to a carpenter to make it symmetrical Also because speaking of tone i have the strong feeling that with modern profiling amps almost any tone can be simulated ? they are digital monster indeed Thanks a lot again, gino

Hello Hans, did you sell it? I have one that needs work on the pots and electrics. Have you any advice?
@hanselmers4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there's a happy buyer ;-) ... you can spray them or replace them. To be able to put them in again, best attache a chord to the shaft of the pot and let the chord through the hole remain outside, so you can pull the pot gently back after treating. Suc6!
