There is a company in Chertsey, MSCCraft Ltd. They do a swivel seat supply and fitting only, expensive £600 but it looks a much better option too this.

I have only just found your post, a bit late sorry? I discovered the post whilst researching trauma with my windows fitted to my Devon Firefly Transit Custom. The windows leak in heavy rain and probably worse look hideous because they don't fit the van. These are SGI aftermarket windows fitted by Devon from new. As you say they do not match the radius/curvature of the van and look rubbish. Also the drains are blocked and the windows leak inside from the sliding track and there is danger that the door card could be damaged with damp. I have contacted a local to me van converter, I have asked him to quote me to fit genuine Ford sliding windows as replacements the same as fitted to the Tourneo. I note that you say avoid cheap windows and accept these are probably going to cost me in excess of £600 each. I look forward to a solution. Thanx for the great video.

How much did this raise your seat by. The company said 7.5 cm but others have said 4 cm. One person I contacted said 10cm...

I've just bought a transit custom, it seems a lot of people have issues with these, are there any alternatives?

How do you find sleeping across the van? If you're tall would your feet hit the side panels a lot? Picking my new Transit Custom up tomorrow hopefully and really interested in having a bed going width ways as it will give me a lot more room. Until recently I have a VW T4 which was much narrower so it wasn't an option.

Hi, just wondering.. when you put your window in your transit custom, did you use the glue that was supplied with campers glass?

Hey there, I have watched this video when I installed the plate and today, the day my van failed its MOT on bushes and the passenger seat being insecure... I undid all the bolts, took the seat off the plate and then investigated. The plate itself was loose. I tried to fasten the torques but no chance they'd sink in deeper. So to get to the bottom of this, I unscrewed all the torque bolts and the one nut. The bolts had corroded quite badly from underneath the van. So I cleaned them up and fastened the lot in again. STILL the plate had play. Undid every bolt again and then noticed that there were three long bolts and one shorter one. So I then figured that the shorter one went at the door side toward the rear of the van. Then the plate was rock solid. Put the chair back on and even ythough my van passed its MOT, the chair would not swivel?!? So I undid everything again and then loosened the bolt in the triangle. That helped a lot. Then, loosening the nuts that actually hold the chair to the plate helped. How safe this is, I'm beginning to severely doubt.... I have a mark 7 transit too (recently purchased), and I've gotten a different plate for that. It has none of these problems and the chair turns ever so easily??? Something went wrong with this design!

Thanks for the great video. Nice to see I’m not alone. With no other options I have recently bought one of these for my transit custom. I’m having lots of issues. The instructions don’t seem to match the vehicle (no clear use for the 6mm washers) and I definitely need some spacers under the unit. I have tried various combinations with washers and I’m never able to lock all four securing bolts. I have contacted Customshop Designs and so far they have indicated they don’t recognise the issue, which seems odd based on so many reports. I have mentioned this video and now awaiting further response. I would really appreciate some advice on how to proceed. What setup has worked best for people and whether, once working, it remains that way or do the issues keep returning? Cheers

Hi got delivery of plate, box not in as bad of condition as yours. Any way fitted plate 2.5 hrs got a mixture of washers with it so followed instructions found that you can’t lock it in place when turned round but I will devise a way to lock it. It is a tight space to turn it but makes a big difference to space in back of van but worth the big expense

The design is the only way it would appear for a bench seat to turn around in such a small space, its amazing it can to be honest! I found it took a few hours to fit, but no major dramas if you follow the instructions exactly. It takes me about 2mins give or take to turn the seat around, and i have to remove the headrests. All the pins drop down in to the holes on their own if you turn them 90 degrees and move the seat slightly; forcing them doesnt work! Although its not perfect, i dont see how else you can do double swivel seat. I added some extra washers at the back of the seat base to tip it forwards slightly, so that when its rotated, youre not falling out of the seat in to the back. I didnt have to cut any wires or wiring ducts, only some of the flooring out as specified in the instructions (i recommend not cutting too much out around the protruding part of the base stencil, otherwise when you rotate the upper seat the base can catch on the plastic flooring (if the flooring is not pinned down underneath the bottom base unit)

How much does it raise the seat from standard? It says 45mm on the website and I contacted them to confirm a few issues and as I have the trend model, with the wiring loom it needs more washers and could be 55mm higher! My problem is I’m 6’6 ‘’ and my head almost touches the roof lining as it is! Would l fir?

I have fitted one to my 15 plate Custom.. its a faff and the instructions were confusing regarding where the spacer washers needed to be placed.. it has been in for a couple of months and its a twat to turn, it also wouldnt lock down properly with the 4 locking pins not going into the holes easily........I have taken it back out and chamfered all the locking pins and the holes they fit into, it goes a lot easier now, and practice has improved things, but its still not the fastest , easiest thing to do after a long drive , especially if its hoofing down with rain !!!

Have you had any problems with condensation on the bottom left of the window? i have noticed that it gathers in the gap between the rubber strip and the glass when i slide a tissue between them it gets soaked with water. Just be aware

I have just finished my 2015 Custom.. different layout to you, I have a single bed along the offside and cooker/ sink over the nearside wheel arch..I have seen videos of people digging out the pre wired loom near to the small round cut out at the bottom of the rear off side door pillar.. I searched and searched for mine but never found it !! a power point there would have been very useful.. I fitted mine out with ply all round and stretch carpet etc.. I ran power to both rear door posts and as it turned out I was glad I did, both are in use for all manner of things...My advice would be to fit a diesel heater now if you are going to, I didnt do it at the time then found there were very few options on where I could put it..I have decided against it and use a free standing gas heater from go outdoors, still puts out 2kw and is £30.. I didnt fancy knocking great holes through the van floor.. and you need to be able to get to those heaters for maintenance, so decided against it... I have used the storage under the passenger seats for my leisure batteries and fuse box etc, so easy to maintain when the seats are lifted. I am looking at rotating seats on the passenger side as a future improvement, I couldnt find a system for my year of van at the time but am now told they are available.. I could go on for ages. Will be watching your vids with interest.
