Just curious. Why did you have the butcher cut the bones off this time? In the previous prime rib video, you cut the bones off to get the meat to fit in the smaller wood fire grill…

Did my 1st brisket on a green egg & woodfire. Did the point on the green egg & flat on the woodfire. Man i don't know what i did wrong but the woodfire brisket was like eating a burnt extension cord. Lol! The point (from the green egg) was freaking bomb bomb bomb. Cooked for 12 hrs & rested for 5. I just coated it with sea salt,cracked pepper & garlic mix. On the flat (woodfire) i used a mixture of prime rib rub (not sure the name). But omg it was freaking awful. It had to be that seasoning cause that's the only difference. Either that or I just applied too much smoke from the woodfire cause I kept it full for 5-6hrs, wrapped & cooked another 3hrs. Again not sure what happened? So that what led me here trying to find what others have done with briskets using woodfire grill? Again the brisket I did on the green egg was freaking awesome. Now everyone in my family wants me to do a brisket for each of the upcoming holidays. Lol! Still can't believe salt, pepper, & garlic shaker mix made that much freaking flavor!

The unit shuts off when resting. If you want to rest in the Woodfire just turn it to smoker and set it to 150F and don’t put in any pellets.

Hello, great vid :) Do you know if there is a setting or a workaround to cold smoke in the ninja woodfire (the small one) ? Trying to make smoked salmon but the lowest setting found so far is the 40degree (celsius) dehydrate with smoke on ^^
@DadGotThis10 күн бұрын
I know that the us models have cold smoke. You go to the smoker setting and turn the knob all the way left until it says CLD. If you don’t have that option then maybe set it to smoker lowest setting possible and turn it off once it smokes and then stick in the food?
@ricbates260712 күн бұрын
Why not just smoke in the air crisp basket you just used? Now you have two pans to clean. Is there a reason to not smoke in the basket?
@DadGotThis12 күн бұрын
This was a demonstration of each of the modes. In normal use most people would not back to back cook in different modes. Space is a consideration with smoking in the basket, you can’t fit large items like briskets, shoulders etc.

What about the side area where the pellet smoke goes? I’ve had mine since March 2024 and that area is sticky and almost so clogged I’m not sure how much is actually able to get lit. I’ve tried to get it off but it didn’t work.
@DadGotThis12 күн бұрын
I never really investigated that. I will have to take a look on my XL.
@scotclark739910 күн бұрын
Man was totally clogged above inside where the pellet box goes. I fixed it and it's now back to GREAT again! I removed the pellet holder/basket and turned the unit upside down. I was able to look thru the bottom part of where the pellet basket goes and could see it was totally blocked with soot. I use a long, thin diameter flathead screwdriver and removed the soot. The mesh up there was blocked and the screwdriver fit well between the openings. Then I had to clean and clear to passage that runs from there and under the hood to the fan. I used a flat flexible piece of metal from a green hanging file folder. It worked great. While cleaning both sections I used Easy-Off Degreaser along the way to help. Ninja should think about making an access panel to make it easier to clean out. It was one heck of a job. I'll be cleaning that area out maybe like after 20 times or so of usage so it never gets blocked again.
