The sizes are marked on outside of the product. It was defective or at least incorrectly marked. The company did not want to admit they were wrong. Even after I sent pictures. I'm absolutely certain that if the insert fit snugly inside the tire before inflation it would work.

Was yours 4 inches or 10 centimeters smaller than the tire? That's the problem I had. And if that is normal it makes no sense. And I got zero help from the company. They said it would stretch over the wheel. I told them yes I got it to stretch over the wheel. That wasn't my problem. The sidewalls blowing off the rim during inflation was my problem. I am absolutely certain if this insert fit snugly inside tire before inflation it would work.

You can't buy US standard individual block molds. They don't exist. They only exists in metric sizes because metric territories are the only ones with low enough wages to justify the use of the product. What I've learned is, it's just not worth the trouble when you can buy certified tested block from home Depot for $1.35. I used the mold to build the foundation of my garage and even I went to Home Depot and bought enough block to finish.

The core assembly was assembled and welded inside a block from home Depot then simply pulled out. Easy pesy

I don't know if you know anything about enduros but I had a KLR650. Love that bike just wasn't very powerful a couple more bikes later I found this bike. Kawasaki 650 versus is very similar to the KLR 650 with a ninja 650 motor on it. It will handle any freeway speeds and it still doesn't mind getting airborne off-road. I needed a dinghy for my sailboat so I bought the bris 14 ft boat in a bag. I saw this motor I got the idea to put the boat and the motor on the back of my motorcycle since the adventure bikes are known to carry a lot of weight. I appreciate the help. I will check it out. But It was more of a welding project than it was a masonry project. I did make several dozen block. I'm using them as the foundation to my garage. They are filled with solid concrete so I don't think I have any worries. But they're holding so far.

The mix is about three parts sand to one part Portland cement. Then you mix in enough water to make it about the same consistency as the damp sand on a beach that you would make a sandcastle out of. The mold uses a zero slump mix where one mold can be used repetitively. Unlike the molds that you would let it sit overnight. Overnight molds you can use a wetter mix even concrete if you like. There is not just different mixes there is different slumps. Paver molds and my molds use a zero slump. If you were putting in a driveway or a sidewalk you would probably use an 5 or a 6 inch slump. If you were filling steel-reinforced concrete blocks you would use a 7 or 8 inch slump.

Oh yeah you don't need the Pea Rock if you're just filling molds.

It depends on what you're using them for. If you're filling them with concrete there is a limit to how small they can be. If you're not filling them with concrete you can make them any size you want.

That's a good point and probably would work, but if I ever need blocks again I'll make it all one piece flip it over fill it with a shovel and pack the mud into place with a shovel and then scrape it off flip the mold back over and pull it off the formed block and repeat the process. Also important to remember that every block I made I used and is still in great shape and filled with concrete holding up my garage.

And by the way I advise people that Home Depot sells the block that my mold was created from for $1.35. I also have written that I myself instead of taking the time to mold blocks to finish a project, I personally drive to Home Depot and bought some of those block to save time. I've never sold any block and every block I've used is full of steel-reinforced concrete and was used on the property that I own.

No the block does not shrink. With a 3/8 motor joint that Bond's it to the next block the block is 16 inches long 8 inches high. But out of the mold without the motor joint the block is 15 and 5/8 inches long 7 5/8 inches high.

Ronald Brown good input insightful genuinely trying to be helpful. I got all the sand I want for free so I'm trying to keep this cost down. I figured it's about 8 or 9 cents a block. my next project it's going to be Doric column molds. trying to work on some ideas about how to taper a welded cylindrical column, any suggestions? I was thinking about building the column completely cylindrical and then making Rip's down the side and re welding them to get the proper taper.

Marius Constantin I like your mold. where did you get it from? it looks like an older style of block with the three cells. is it standard or metric?

Matt McCallum yes their out there you have to Google it. I will try later. you can use metric block on standard plans. you just have to be creative with your rebar spacing. sometimes you can just add rebar. sometimes it's easier for a mason just to cut blocks to fit around the rebar issue. but I still can't see any reason why it would be easier then just going to Home Depot and buying the block for $1.35. Maybe if you're in a remote area like Alaska or high in the Rockies or you have access to large amounts of Portland and sand at a low cost. whatever it is I'll try to get back to you with more answers but yes metric masonry block molds are out there and are what gave me the inspiration.

sorry my friend. I took a standard US block and I welded 14 inch gauge steel around the outside then I welded all around inside of both cells while the block was upside down and Link the cells together so I can pull them out of the mold first because the block is thicker on top so the only way the motor slip off of it is upside down. the outside of the block is completely Square so when you're doing the outside it doesn't matter. but when you're doing the individual cells you must Assemble the parts upside down. it literally took me at least 25 hours of Labor cutting each piece to fit exactly and then welding it all together. anyone who would spend the time to make one of these molds can have some fun saving themselves a little money. But I promise you by the time you make the mold get the sand the Portland and the aggregate and make the blocks you will probably understand it would have been easier just to buy them from Home Depot for a $1.35 a piece. I have the mold and all the free sand I want, and I would still probably buy the block if I was doing a house. I'm using them for a few small projects and I made a cool video and I came up with a welding project to teach myself how to weld, but the reason that these single U.S. standard block molds are so unusual is because labor cost make them obsolete.

sorry brother all I can tell you is what I did. I got a regular block and I welded 14 gauge pieces all the way around the outside. then with the block upside down I welded pieces all around both of the cells. the block is tapered thicker on the top and thinner on the bottom so your mold must be built to manufacture the block upside down. it is the only way at the center mold will slip off the block. I am an amateur welder I took me about 25 hours labor at least. but it was fun I made a cool video and I came up with a welding project to give me some experience welding. I have all the free sand I could use the mold and if I was building a house I'd still buy the block from Home Depot at $1.35 a piece. by the time you built them old got the same the Portland and the Aggregate and made the block you probably agree it would just be easier to buy them. but if you want to weld it anyway I'll answer any of your questions it's really straightforward. just copy the masonry block with steel.

Yes making the mold was very laborious. It took almost a week. It was my second project teaching myself how to weld. Got another project coming this weekend.

it's about eight parts and one and a half parts cement and a half part pea Rock. ad just enough water to make it damp. if it's runny at all it will not work. if you wanted to make a simple box you can make your own bricks easy custom sizes. I wouldn't suggest building a block mold like this. it took me probably about 30 hours to build it. I live almost next door to one of North Florida's largest sand mines the Keuka sand plant. so I sit on a acre and a half of pure blonde sand.

Did they turn out good? Where would metric ones be found? I am wanting to help a guy in Senegal Africa to build a little shop but he has nothing to do so it would make sense if he could actually make his own cinder blocks to build it.
