@@OnzieReeves Her entire character revovles around having experienced something traumatic and it makes her disconnected and rude to everyone around her. Fine, except every other character in the show has experienced trauma of equal or greater severity and they still have multiple facets to their characters besides that trauma. Lapis just seems like the lazy self insert of one of the writers trying to express a grief they can't get over and that doesnt have the same depth as the rest of the cast.

@@Will6852 I'm sorry? She was fused with someone who kept her prisoner for MONTHS, not to mention she had been a prisoner before that for idk several thousand years in a mirror? To make it worse, her gem was cracked. And tbh she wasn't revolved around her trauma much after she became friends with Peridot.

@@OnzieReeves She's kinda rude to steven alot, and other gems who try to talk to her. And yeah, I'm not saying she hasn't experienced trauma becuase she certainly has. But take any other crystal gem, they fought a war against their own kind for thousands of years, they saw their leader and loved one sacrifice herself to become a hybrid of another species. Steven is his own mom and has to bear the weight of every decision she's ever made and has to shoulder the responsibility of every aspect of that same crazy war. Greg, quite simply, lost the woman he loved most on earth. But they are still complex characters that have ups and downs and move through several character arcs. Lapis' default state is "I experienced a bad thing, don't interact with me" for most of the show until the end where she's like "I experienced a bad thing, but now you can interact with me sometimes." She's just not written as well as the others.
