The only performance of this piece I like better is by the late great John Delanci with Philadelphia. Either way this is a superb performance.

Thank you! That is a very honorable compliment!

This is edited, and there was no need to adjust anything. The musicians were good enough without adjustment of tone quality, reverb and volume!
@feliciagreciucoboe7 ай бұрын
Believe it or not, is absolutely the original sound. We used 2 schoeps mics and good recording device. The only editing was to cut the empty time between movements.

As the son of the composer Jean Françaix, I am happy to see that you play (very well indeed !), and therefore like my father's music. I thank you for that and point you to the following link on which, to mark the 25th anniversary of his death, I collected short videos containing excerpts from his music, accompanied by visual documents retracing his life. Channel link to all videos : www.youtube.com/@jeanfrancaixenmusiqueeteni1536/videos Many of the works I have chosen are relatively little known and I think you will be surprised by the variety of their inspiration. You would be doing my father's music a great service by sharing these videos as much as possible. Thank you in advance. Jacques Françaix

I have loved this piece for over 50 years. All music has it's special memories of course and this reminds me of when I lived at Fliquet Bay on Jersey in the British Channels Islands. Anyway....If I could take one piece of music and one performance with me on a desert Island it would be this one. such restraint and unhurried performance couple with the overflowing joy of this piece. Felicia and the ensemble have just nailed this piece!!! Just lovely

Good Job! As someone who studied with Mr. de Lancie it is nice to hear another performance. Because of my training and being used to the Philadelphia Sound and Musical Tradition this Interpretation is different than what I tried for. Congratulations on playing the High F at the end of the 1st Section!
@maouAOUT Жыл бұрын
A lovely and thoughtful performance not only by the very fine soloist, but orchestra and conductor as well. Certainly one of the best I’ve heard. I’m so glad it’s available here. I thought I read a comment from former student that Mr de Lancie asked Françaix to make the part simpler, as he wasn’t a particularly showy performer (or words to that effect). I’ve always wondered why, of his many concertante pieces for virtually every instrument, this stands out as the least overtly virtuosic in Françaix’s œuvre. That’s not to say there’s anything remotely easy about the work, only that it does, without question, contain far fewer notes than any of the others. That it is also amongst his most popular works certainly shows Françaix could be wonderful even without his characteristically fiendish technical difficulty.
