I remember I heard this for the first time when I was 15 and fell in love! Slept with it blasting in my headphones. I have searched for 25 years to find this song again because I forgot what the name and band was 😢 I just found it tonight!! I'm crying!!

I had that pleasure. I had no idea who they were. It was just after Sophtware Slump and a friend dragged me along, Northumbria University, she said ‘you’ll like this…’ she was right. This song blew me away.

Beautiful! ❤ Here I am walking down memory lane; what a great video to stumble upon! Saw Jason Lytle and Nik Freitas in Minnesota at a little bar, or coffee shop? Trying to find it on Google maps now. Who knows if the building even exists anymore. It was the coolest little live show with like maybe 20 or 30 people in the room. I remember walking in the door, bars on the left with spinny wooden stools and on the right side was a line of tables. It was bright on the inside ,white and blue decor. I could have swore it was 2006. Anyways, if you're reading this, remember you're awesome!

Thanks for the reposting Jerome, much appreciated. Your son has enriched the lives of many people and we all aim towards the sky - quietly but with a gentle sense of purpose and humour (I'm from England and that's how we spell humor over here xxx)

I recently discovered this song after listening to grandaddy for almost a decade, and by God it is an underrated masterpiece! Something about this song just makes me happier and I really needed a pick me up after the year I've had. Thank you to Jason and the guys for making such great music, and thank you to Mr. Lytle for uploading this video!

Jason was making slacker rock way before than Mac Demarco , grandaddy were very ahead of the curve. In a sense, Mac Demarco seems like a cheap ripoff of grandaddy. Even when it comes to a fashion sense.

Should never have left the crystal lake. For parties full of folks who flake, Italian leather winter games Retired by the duraflames. The crystal lake it only laughs, It knows you're just a modern man, It's shining like a chandelier, Shining somewhere far away from here. I've gotta get out of here... And find my way again. I've lost my way again. Should never have left the crystal lake, For areas where trees are fake, And dogs are dead with broken Hearts, collapsing by the coffee carts. The crystal lake it only laughs, It knows you're just a modern man, It's shining like a chandelier, Shining somewhere far away from here. I've gotta get out of here... And find my way again. I've lost my way again.
