I loved the idea! Can you elaborate in a more detailed video? Thank you! Loved them!

The entire point of Delft tiles is that the paint used on them is a specific type of blue, which in Dutch is called Delftsblauw.

How well does the paint hold up to wear and tear? I think this is so cute, but if they're not durable, i won't be able to use them.

Bookcase width = sqrt(frame width^2 - bookcase depth^2). Assuming you put the pivot on the diagonal line, which you did. A template also works.

It's illegal to install non- safety glass above or to the side of a door. Stained glass usually isn't code compliant in this application.

I checked my local codes, it’s allowed. My historic has a transom originally in it in another room
@mmmonkay3 күн бұрын
It’s allowed. Transom windows have been around for a long time. Especially during the Victorian era.
@RH-cv1rg3 күн бұрын
@@AtHomewithAshley You might be right for your area. Some areas allow non-tempered around a door depending on the height. Some have 24" from the door rules. Either way, your project looks nice.

I would get a binder for the booklets with the plastic see thru inserts you can place them alphabetically etc. it keeps them nice and easy to put on the shelf. Also can decorate the binder any way you would like.

It’s cute..a few suggestions. I would paint the wood cabinet possibly the light green color or that pretty rose/pink. I would consider putting sparkle dots on the painting to add a 3-d effect and quirkiness. Overall it’s perfect the scallop wallpaper was truly a great way to fix a mistake but it ended up being my favorite decor item.

I love this..was thinking of looking for vintage paintings and trying this application as well. I love the 3D effect I wonder if using swavorski larger crystals would also work and lessen the time issue? Would you ever consider doing a project like that?

If the child does not share the same passion as the parent then why not send it all over to a thrift store or to someone else who would love the collection. I know my daughter will not want my collection and I don’t expect her to keep any of it. I’ve told everyone to give it away, not throw it away.

I’d…donate it. I don’t like clutter I’d take a photo and then donate it. ❤

I am 66. This video really tore at me. I have a huge collection of cat figurines just like the ones shown. I know my boys will send them to a thrift store. So this video made me resolve to find another person who collects that would love to have them when I pass to heaven.

My grandma said she wasn’t leaving me anything because my mom divorced my dad. I told her I didn’t need anything. Sometimes old people are just bitter and would rather have their things get donated.

I don't think we should keep things like this out of a sense of obligation...let them find new homes with people that find joy in them all over again! That's the beauty of the thrift store...and the money raised helps people in need too. Wins all round!

I have my collection of very much loved Matel Baby Beans dolls (Booful,Jeans ,Bif etc) from the late 60’s and 70’s . Also a Mrs. Beasley and Baby Drowsy . It gives me nightmares that they’d end up in a landfill or unwanted after my death . My sons assure me that they’d keep my “babies” . They’re of no financial value to anyone but my father and mother bought me them when I was a little girl. I’ve had them my entire life.

Some things want to travel, meet new people, be picked up by a child and start the dream all over again! Be the first in a new collection. I think it's beautiful. When giving things away i wonder "will someone love this more than i can imagine "

I watched the sweetest old woman when I did caregiving. She had beautiful collections, some glass horses, tons of exquisite music boxes, some old western things, and more. When she passed I stopped by her house for the estate sale. Her family had told me how the only thing her mother looked forward to in death, was seeing where her collections ended up. As long as nothing was thrown out by her family’s hands she was happy. Rip Edith

I think it’s great bc the proceeds go to help the needy :) at least at my local one, everything goes to a women’s shelter. It’s off the beaten path and all the best donations go there from the nicest local people who know about it, it’s a privately run shop. 🤍
