I found it interesting that she doesn’t write down the lyrics immediately. I wonder if keep singing without writing it down is a way to make it easier to memorize the lyrics, or if she is still not satisfied with a specific word and keeps trying to find a better one before writing it down... 😅 Great video! 👏🏻

Composer? You make it out as if she writes and produces all her songs… She wouldn’t be in her position without her stockbroker dad who had connections in the music biz.

Her dad made one connection with a fledgling studio that only ever produced one major star--Taylor. She's in her position because she earned it.

People who dismiss Taylor Swift’s fame because she’s not a virtuoso are overlooking the broader definition of musical artistry. They reduce music to a Western-centric ideology, which fails to account for the diverse ways cultures worldwide create and appreciate music without adhering to formal techniques. Taylor’s ability to craft music based on what resonates with her as well as her audience is a testament to her talent. If millions are moved by her vision, that is what makes her fame valid not how well she fits into the music norms. Also virtuosos are generally hated in their own field btw. They’re often appreciated for their skills but criticized for prioritizing it over emotional depth or relatability. In some ways, they’re like the action films of Hollywood. Full ofspectacles of technical mastery that don’t always resonate on a deeper, more personal level.

I think of all the tracks on JLP, this is the most “heroic” her voice gets. It’s like she’s been on 10 the whole album and she squeaks it up to an 11 here. Love this song. Power ballad all the way.

I think writing the song "Lover" was a huge accomplishment to Taylor because I remember her saying somewhere years ago that she always envied Ed Sheeran's ability to write love songs and that there was no way she would ever be able to write the perfect love song like Ed Sheeran can. And with this song, she did - and I think that's why she was so proud of it.

my thoughts about her are different like she is addicted but positively addicted in making music which made her a billionare i guess? but her songs are just telling that she's a genius. the way she is creating melodies and whatsoever from her head is really really amazing but i can say it is an addiction by creating songs the way she does.

A marvellous compilation of glimpses into Tay’s phenomenal songwriting magic. An instrumental virtuoso she ain’t, but conjures her wonders with so visibly simple elements and gestures, which anybody (just try yourself) could learn, but not apply them so absolutely amazingly. No wonder she started to create songs from the very day she adopted only the most rudimentaries about guitar playing. Real content based creativity is to find something new from basically simple set of elements. Being restricted feeds creativity, while endless possibilities via technical virtuosity might more or less succumb one’s ability to clarify, compress and creative captivating content. Sure one can find a whole new areas where to spoon up via tremendous technical curiosity and brilliance, but it’s harder to crystallize within endless paths to probe. She is so mesmerising, captivating, cute and sexy. I love her. 💙😙🌹
