idiot! The skipper shouldn't be allowed to skipper a dinghy nevermind a 50 footer. His crew were useless! Don't go sailing if you can't help the boat! But also why nobody help? I don't care if it happens every minute, people should help!

It is not Stirling it is a hotbulb engine, it is a 2strok curd oil engine but it runs on dieseloil

När jag var liten på 1970-talet lärde jag mig imitera motorljudet från en båt genom att slå handflatan mot ett dammsugarrör. Men det var först efter 35-40 år som jag begriper att det var tändkulemotor som alstrade det karakteristiska ljudet.

@@zeglarzfordewind5653 Здорово Вам! А я в этом году сходил на регату Гогланд рейс в море были всего 15 дней, но очень понравилось. Вся дистанция 567 км Вышли из Питера прошли через Кронштадт, повернули на Сосновый бор, дошли до соснового бора и от туда на Гогланд, прошли Цепной, Звеньевой, Мощный Сэскар, Большой и Малый Тюттерс остров Рондо и пройдя мимо березовых островов вернулись домой...

@@zeglarzfordewind5653 Я ходил Старшим Механиком на судейской яхте Архангельск. Это 16 метровая стальная яхта. В этой регате приходилось ремонтировать и другие яхты. Яхта Эра, осталось без хода, отремонтировал на стоянке острова Гогланд. Потом яхта Ника попросила ремонта... Путешествие было весёлое.... А как Ваш поход прошел?

The boat across the strait actually has a line in hand from the boat but I guess it was unclear what to do with it. A lot of stress in a situation like this. It is not easy.

Gussoh, oh I see now someone did try to give them a line. The gentleman on the bow should have dropped the anchor. I've been in that situation before with my MacGregor 65 with no bow thrusters in a marina headed straight for a restaurant 😂 I ran up and dropped the anchor and it grabbed just in time before I crashed the restaurant dock. Crazy day!!

Fellow at the bow with the fender would have been far more helpful by throwing a bowline to the boats to starboard. At least stop the madness. Easy to comment I know, and hopefully they learned from this, like most of us sailors tend to do after a mistake. Hopefully the rum once they tied up tasted extra good.

Looks looks like a failure in watching which way the tide was going, he should have thrown a line to the boats off of his stern to them and have them hold on until his bow was pushed by the current headed out the bay.
