I think they’re hiding something for this character. We know nothing about this character other than he’s the captain, also the (Port Borgo) is also something that got me theorizing.

I have always hated the concept of the inhibitor chips. They feel like a cheap way to totally absolve/excuse the clones from the horrible actions they performed during order 66 and for the Empire afterwards. It completely removes the nuance from the subject. Back during the old Legends days when a clone trooper refused order 66 it was a BIG thing because it meant they willingly chose to save their Jedi generals over their careers/lives as soldiers and all the years of training and combat that came with it. Now in the current canon all of the clones get a "pass" and get to keep their "hero status" all because of a cheap cop-out brain chip, and they all somehow have moral epiphanies afterwards and defect from the Empire despite their training and programming.

I think the clones knowing all along that they were created to kill the jedi or the clones having inhibitor chips to trigger killing the jedi are all such interesting conspiracies. Originally i thought the clones knowing all along would be weird because the jedi trained clones during the clone wars. But the clone wars only lasted three years, so every new clone added to the fight would have already known their purpose because they were created before obi-wan found kamino. The clones just wasting the jedi because they're designed to obey any order is super lame though and takes away the conspiracy. like ok, sifo dias ordered a bunch of contingency orders and the chancellor executed one, the conspiracy ends there.

What's weird is that before sending Anakin to the temple and ordering the clones to execute order 66, Palpatine tells Anakin that clearly all of the Jedi must be in on the plot to kill him, and only total annihilation could prevent them from trying to kill him again or wiping out the senate and starting a brand new war, and honestly just giving that explanation to the clones alongside telling them to carry out the pre-established emergency order 66 out of 150 would be an entirely solid reason for the clones to go through with it and further establish Palpatine's manipulator cred, as he wouldn't have been able to justify the order if the Jedi hadn't made their move. (Well, he could probably fabricate some evidence either way, but this way helped)

Inhibitor chips was one of the dumber plot points they added to star wars. The republic commando books have better reasons for why. Also, they didn't know they were gonna kill the jedi, they had order 66 just like they had order 5 to kill the chancellor.

Didn't a lot of clones hate their jedi general because they were incompetent? It wasn't the case for every clone because there were competent jedis but if i remember correctly for a lot of clones that was the case like the 21st Nova Core under Ki-Adi-Mundi.
