Could this work for my 98 Ford e250 van ? I inadvertently took out the camshaft synco when I did my thermostat Job now my van has a weird rattling sound on acceleration but live Data says that advance timing is around 14 15 degrees

I guess my question for you ; in 3:30, if the fans, are running, why would you check the wiring ? Looks like the wiring is good. I would say, if the fans are not working; yet, all the wiring is good, all fuses and relays are good, this tells me; there has to be a bad sensor somewhere. There is a sensor somewhere that is not talking to other sensors to make the fans come on. This is my guess. My car has this problem, This is a mistery. Replaced the engine coolant temperature sensor, replaced the thermostat, checked and replaced the relays. Still no fans. When I apply voltage directly to the fans, fans come on. When I remove a relay, fans come on. When I unplug the engine cooling temperature sensor, fans come on. Mmmm ??? My guess is when I unplug the engine coolant temperature sensor, or remove the relay, I'm bypassing the problem. This is not a fix... So I have no answers at this time.

If I recall, this was a 1998-99 Chevrolet Lumina. It's a very basic cooling fan setup for most manufacturers at the time. Year/make/model and I can provide more detailed instructions. Newer vehicles will try to turn the fans on if the ECM/PCM detects it can no-longer trust the coolant temp sensor or the fan control circuit. Sounds like the fans run in fail-safe do they also run with the A/C on?

@@PsychoholicGenius thank you for responding. Ok... Here's what I've learned so far. My fans do not come on at all. Unless; 1).. I unplug the engine coolant temperature sensor, I think I'm bypassing something. 2) ..remove the relay, again, I thinking I'm bypassing something. 3).. apply voltage directly to the fans. 4)... With the radiator cap off, engine is running. The fans come on in 30 minutes. But radiator cap has to be off, or car will over heat. My fans never come on, not even with AC on. I checked the AC clutch, I gave it a spin by hand, it turns easily. Mmmm ??? Confused yes. Only the top radiator hose gets really hot, it swells up. The lower radiator hose is good. I thought I had a clogged radiator, when I drained it, the antifreeze came goshing out like a crazy water faucet. So I did confirm radiator is good. My Dodge stratus 2002 doesn't have a radiator fan switch. I confirmed that with Dodge dealership. Any ideas ? I'm fresh out of ideas.

I have a 2013 se and it doesn’t sound bad while driving but starting it up sounds bad so I’m gonna try replacing the motor mounts and see how that goes

Hello , I have a 2001 Chevy lumina fans only turn on with a/c on , I replaced temperature cooling sensor and fans still not turning on , I checked relays panel with test light and pin 87 has no ground,

Mr Genius, My 01 impala is acting just like the lumina in your video.... The fans wont turn on until the temp is up well over 212. all three relays check out ok and the fans come on fine when A?C is on... What did you diaagnose on the Lumina?

Try that on vintage 1966 terminals. Did not work on Fairlane 12 pin dashpanel female connector.

The round pins? Yes they require a special tool. For those one just needs to find a small tube that can slip over the pin and depress the ears. I have had good luck using a piece of air-shock airline.
