if price of complementary good is decreased, then people will buy more of complementary good, and less of the good we are speaking of, hence the demand for the good will be decreased right?

Not quite. What you’re describing is actually substitute goods. The way to think of complementary goods is like this: For simplicity let’s say peanut butter and jelly are complementary goods. You only consume them together, but rarely/never on their own (I know this is an unrealistic assumption but just bear with me on it for this example). If the price of peanut butter decreases, you’ll increase your quantity demanded of peanut butter, however you’ll increase your demand for jelly as well, even though nothing has directly happened to the price of jelly. Does this help?
