u should put the red dot on the 5 inch barrel instead it would be a little more accurate💯

My first Aguilla bullet basically exploded, ruining my magazine and getting black marks on my hand. But that was also the first bullet I shot out of the HP 22. I think there was too much of some chemical or debris in the chamber when they shipped it to me. I should’ve inspected and cleaned it before using it. It’s worked fine ever since. But no matter what ammo I use I sometimes mysteriously get little infectious splinters after using the Phoenix arms. But I have the 22 and 25 versions one black one silver, and I love dual wielding them. Haha.

Thumbs down for the stupid and redundant music! learn to talk and provide details instead of being lame to use nothing but music as if that makes our viewing experience pleasurable

When the budget will afford it, certainly buy spare parts when those parts are known to wear at a quicker rate than the average. Many times in the past I bought things, problems started after a couple years of use, but then when I went to go find parts I could hardly them anywhere. When I did find them, most of them were used parts and sellers of the new parts were gouging people on the cost.

Easily got my thumbs up! No stupid music, presented with a lot of detail, and an overall down-to-earth video. Thank you

if you're looking for a hogue grip with a beavertail for the phoenix arms hp22a get the hogue grip sku #18300 for the s&w 45 and various kahr's handguns. it fits the phoenix arms hp22a perfectly with a little bit of overhang on the beavertail. you can trim the excess rubber off the beavertail or leave it as is.

Try backing the camera off a bit. It's a little close for comfortable viewing. Thanks for the review, though. I haven't tried that grip yet. It looks pretty nice. I have a number of mouse guns that might benefit.

Have it.. but my slide is soo stiff and hard to pul back.. any thing i can do to loosen it up??
@TheGearGatherer
@TheGearGatherer 2 күн бұрын
The slide is hard to pull back? Have you pulled the hammer down before stripping? Have you tried oiling the slide areas that rub together? Putting some rounds through it should help too. Or racking it back and forth for some time. That's all I think of if I'm getting your question right. But more detail on the issue would be of great help 🙂

@TheGearGatherer Thanks !! It's new... I've only shot it maybe 2 dozen times.. I've never oiled it and just very new as far as grandma's go near 60... I've had for several years tho.. I'll try your tips.. you got my question just right.. it also was not ejecting the shell brand new out the box so I thought it was wrong ammo but I used Winchester cci which I thought was right... I found a gun smith old timer... I never mentioned the slide but he said it was rough inside the barrel feom factory so he fixed that prob for me.. said he oiled everything for me so I'll just work it in my spare time... thanks for your reply 👍 👵✌️🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸💪🏼

Great little plinker, a few small problems at first, did the safety mod (Ordered a new safety switch to keep for putting it back to stock) I filed off the bit that goes under the mag eject button and where the "safety bar" stop the mag release (so that it slides under) works 100% Fun to shoot, but, no 22 is reliable enough for a self defense weapon... For the price its a fun range "toy" and I use it to introduce new shooters.... I have had to spring go flying, your method should make it easier to "break down" TNX

Yes, that big ass screw he used makes it a 9 rd mag. And of course with the 10th round in the mag, if you can get a round over the screw head won't hold open the slide, just jam it open. Dead gun. BUT, if as I did, you use a smaller (SMALL) head screw it works fine in all aspects.

why do you need spare parts? Won't they be replaced , if broken, under the lifetime warranty ?

bought a 3 pack of these on ebay. they must of redesigned the hp22a mag or something because i tried to follow the instruction on youtube on how to install these. my hp22 mag has a small flap at the bottom of the mag the keep the follower inside the mag so i had to bend it so the follower could come out of the mag. also the modified 3d printed last round hold follower was slightly larger front to back than the oem follower so it won't move freely inside the mag. had to get some calipers to measure the difference. it was like 0.05" difference. got a dremel with a sanding bit and sanded of the back part of the modified follower so that it's the same size as the oem follower. now the last round hold open works fine now.

I hope u r still around! I want to polish my son's HP22 and have never done polishing before. Do I keep putting little dabs of Mother's on the Qtip or just use it once? Do I change Q tips during the 1/2 hr of polishing? Sorry, silly old man questions but if I can make a mistake I will, haha. Thank you!

Step 1. unload your ammo, many ways to do this depending if your 10 or 10+1. It also depends if your safety is worn down enough to drop the mag in fire position.If not the trigger safety will have to be on. 2. Once mag and chamber are empty the mag must be in, and safety must be on "fire" to pull the slide back and lock it back with the trigger safety. Once in locked open position you can drop the mag if you want. (however you cannot drop the slide into battery without mag in.) 3. Once slide is locked back (doesnt matter if mag is in or out at this point), put the rear of the gun against your belly or chest and use both hands to manipulate barrel release forward while pulling up on the barrel. (its hard to describe this without pics). Baarrel should come right out and slide should remain locked. 4. So at this point you should have a full pistol minus the barrel (and the mag if you choose) in a locked back position. Simply put the new barrel in just as you would the old one. You should feel it click as you push down on the barrel if you have it all alighned correctly on the barrel pin. Once barrel is pushed down and flush you need to have the mag in( I like an empty mag) to drop the slide. 5. At this point everything should be back together. Rack it a couple times empty to make sure it stays together. Load repeat.

I wonder if the firing pin wears down from striking the chamber edge on an empty chamber because there is no slide lock to tell you it is empty?
