That's amazing. I'm genuinely jealous because it had all gone before my time (born in the 80s) but I've always been fascinated by the line behind our house. I used to walk along the trackbed as a child before it became completely overgrown. My dad remembers the line and went to Cross Hall School in Ormskirk.

I haven't timed it. The car has good mechanical grip and the TC doesn't need to intervene much doing launches in the dry. Where the TC shows its weaknesses is when powering out of slow bends or roundabouts (particularly in the wet). The TC kicks in, cuts the power then seems to take a second or two to allow the power back in. It feels like the power is on or off, rather than being smoothly regulated. A smoother driving style avoids the TC taking over and is probably quicker.

@superbracey5 ай бұрын
In eco mode it's rear wheel drive only, but only because it's running on just the rear motor, so effectively half the power. You can't have it rwd and 400+bhp, unfortunately. Or fortunately?
@tommyjakobsen55045 ай бұрын
rear motor is about 230hp. front motor is around 205hp so in ECO or in less then 20% charge it will only be running on rear motor. in eco i can get it to run about 14.2Kw/100km. not best but very good. and in Normal mode withcombined engine shut down its around 17kw/100Km, i hanv´t try in Sport mode for longer trips.

I've just got back from a 1400 mile round trip to do the NC500. During the trip I averaged 3.1 miles per kWH, which equates to about 190 miles, but that included some very hard driving on mountain roads and fast average speeds on open roads. However, at one point I was stuck in the middle of nowhere with low charge and miles from the nearest charge point. Over about 40 miles I was achieving 4.8 miles per kWh due to very careful driving in eco mode. That equates to about 296 miles range.

You need deep pockets to keep one on the road. In 12 months of ownership I paid £1100 for tyres (you don't want to scrimp on cheap tyres with a 500+bhp saloon!), about £300 on a service and £3000 on replacing the timing chains and about £150 to replace a split coolant hose. I have my fun with it but I couldn't afford to keep one as a long-term proposition.
