I've been so torn between where to live in tassie (I haven't made the jump yet) I'm an avid kitesurfer and want to live by the ocean, it's been hard targeting spots until I stumbled across your videos! Coastal inlets and potential wind shadows are evident as you cruise along some of the coast as well as sandy bottoms and of course rocky outcrops. This my friend is a resource I'll be using to narrow my search. Lovely and relaxing too , Thank you

Beautiful stuff as always..........a pilot question for you....what are the general aircraft maintenance costs, on average per year for your Foxbat...??.....and kind regards from me, a Jabiru driver in South Ausralia....😃
@WanderingFoxbat26 күн бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply mate... I fly about 120hrs per year, so I have 2-3 50-hourly maintenance jobs to get done each year. I use my CFI (Foxbat owner) who is an L2 maintainer. Each 50-hourly varies $500-$1500, so you could say maintenance costs are about $20 per hour flown. Cheers Gary

The Waterhouse Beach area looks different than a typical Tasmania beach in that it looks washed over. What happened there? Tsunami?
@WanderingFoxbat2 ай бұрын
@@CheckmateKing2 I think you’re referring to the large dune we fly over before landing. It’s just windblown sand, but one area looks to be raked over - maybe to plant some stabilising vegetation?

@@WanderingFoxbat On Google Earth, that entire beach, from the landing strip eastward, is heavily striated. To my untrained eye it looks like it’s been washed over. Regardless, this was a most enjoyable flight over territory new to me.
