any ideas what spots this would be good for in exiled lands?
@VinomisDrago3 күн бұрын
My favorite spots to build something large are above the Mounds of the Dead in the B-12 region, and the area between the desert and forest at around J-6 or K-7. There is a tall plateau above a bunch of dead trees that is wide open.

Beautiful building! Thanks a lot for the video, I just built almost the same observatory but placed the cartographer on the first floor to make it more useful. The only problem was to build the stairs afterwards, really a headache :D

Glad you like it! Those stairs can be troublesome but I bet your observatory looks awesome!

What the build count on this :?
@VinomisDrago19 күн бұрын
I used ceilings and pillars for this one, but if you were going to go with foundations, it would approximately 1252 total. You could also use a combination of fence foundations and foundations to lessen the amount.

I realize it's been two years since the video came out but, I just found it. I'm curious on how you made the windmill spin? I'd love to be able to make that in my little slice of the Exiled Lands.
@VinomisDragoАй бұрын
It was a little editing trick I did. It was back when I was still trying to find my place on KZbin. I even had a plan to make a video showing how I did it in DaVinci Resolve. With that being said, I am surprised they haven't made windmills and water wheels in the game.

How many build pieces was this? It is a lovely build!
@VinomisDragoАй бұрын
I'm so glad you liked it! It took 86 square foundations and 144 wedge foundations, but those numbers can change depending on how flat the ground is. If it is completely level, it can be about half the amount of foundations.

Would love to build this but it’s hard to follow along when you’re going at the speed of light
@reddredd1179Ай бұрын
Also it won’t let me place the sloped corner walls at 1:38 because of the pillars
@VinomisDragoАй бұрын
Yeah...when I first started, I took the "speedbuild" idea a little too literal. As for the pillars and the sloped walls, you have to use the stable pillars first, place the sloped walls, and then change the pillar to whatever set you want to use. I just tried it myself and this works.

As a suggestion you may want to try, I use the Aquillonian railing stairs with is new set, as the plain white marble 'railing' tends to go better with the new white fences. Also sometimes using certain other Aquillonian pieces can help to break up the monotony, and Aquillonian walls have a slightly (IMHO) more "academic" look to them. I also use the Argossean "crenellation" fence facing outwards as wall decoration (although I do use LBPR)
@VinomisDrago2 ай бұрын
Oh, I love the synergy between Aquilonian and Argossean. That is a wonderful idea!

Now i have image in my head and WILL share it with you: that square peripheral parts - support trusses, circular(hexagonal) - either first stage or boosters, and main building is everything else... After all, what best place to observe the stars than SPACE? PS: transparent walls don't help that image but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In all the videos I've seen so far of builds using this set, they all used music that felt like I was rediscovering my sense of wonder. This pairs perfectly with your build, which feels similar to Cair Paravel from the Chronicles of Narnia.
