Do you know how to adjust camber on the rear my right side is a bit off to the left side
@TCBGarage14329 күн бұрын
There is a cam-bolt on the inner end of the lower control arms in the rear, but before you go adjusting anything, make sure all of your bushings and ball joints are good. These cars don’t go out of alignment unless an adjustment point has come loose or if a bushing/joint or more than one have worn out or failed. This is all assuming the car hasn’t been wrecked or damaged in any other way. If you do find yourself needing to make adjustments to the rear, don’t forget to also correct the rear toe. I hope this helps.

That’s a good sign that something is wrong. Make sure the ride height is the same side to side and closely inspect the bushings and ball joints.

Dad bought a new '65' or '66' one of these, same gold trim, for our lake place in Keystone Heights Fl. He put a Merc 100hp inline 6 on it. No tilt & trim. Speed prop. Couldn't control the violent side to side roll with the pin in the 5th position and 50+ mph. Pin in 4 hole and two in boat could hit 56 before just about being thrown out. Think I'll start looking for one. Thanks for the memories.

Go to the 11 minutes and 36 seconds through about 11 minutes and 48 seconds part of the video, (and again at 12.48). At these points I am trimmed to the level where max available speed is reached. Im running a stern lifting prop, which achieves its max top speed with less trim out than a more traditional bow lifting prop.

Is the ride harsher firmer ? or better in term of comfort...i dont know if i should get b4 dampmatic or sachs....
@TCBGarage1434 ай бұрын
The Bilsteins I installed are the same as what my car came with from the factory, just a superseded part number. So the ride is restored to what it was before the one shock went bad. The suspension geometry, shocks, struts, springs, tires, and wheels on this car having the sport package are the same as what the C63 came with, which is a firmer ride than the non-sport suspension setup. If you have a non-sport car and are curious about switching the shocks and springs over to the sport set-up, the ride is a little harsh if you have a bad back, but only the tiniest bit. In fact, it’s a three part procedure in tuning the ride you’d want; tire profile, springs, and shocks/struts. I hope this gave you the info you were looking for. Let me know if you need any clarification and thank you for your comment.

I don't remember the exact size for those. @@TCBGarage143 - if I can make a suggestion... if you want high flow without a ton of volume, you might want to try an X-pipe into a single Flowmaster 50 series Big Block SUV with dual inlets/outlets. You still get distinct tone from the left and right bank, but it flows great and really helps with throttle response. The X-pipe will make sure you maximize your scavenging potential before it enters the muffler.
@TCBGarage1437 ай бұрын
Right now I’m leaning toward an x-pipe with 2.5” pipe and a pair of Delta Flow 40’s and tailpipes all the way back. I’ve always liked the idea of putting 50’s on this car for sound, but they’re just too big. Even if I did only run one. Thank you for the comment.

About ten years back, I had an old worn out Yamaha 70 on it that would run 52 mph with a 3-blade stern lifting propeller. It was fun, but I love the look of the old Mercury. Maybe some day I’ll find a Mercury 80 or 85 to go on it. I have other boats with better hull design for more power, so they will probably get more power first, but we’ll see.

Hows the sound during normal driving? Any drone on the highway?
@TCBGarage14310 ай бұрын
When cruising 55, which is 1600 rpm in this truck, it has a pretty healthy drone. When cruising 50 or under, or 60 or over, it is quiet. Also, when you nail it, it’s not very loud. To be honest, I recently removed the system and put the factory setup back on it because it was so loud in the 50-60 range. The quality of construction was top notch, but the muffler was just not for me. With all of that said, it increased my fuel mileage average by 1 mpg. When I put the original system back on, it went back down. Thanks for watching and inquiring!
