Hi Emily,I am JAYASHREE ur new subscriber from India. Want to do this project,intact v exited.Went thru d comments of fellow subscribers. So have a suggestion to people who run out of cord in d process of making ' d tree of life". A wearer's knot can help in attaching d cord.Pls do let me know if I am right. If not correct me because I do not want to get stranded. Thanx in advance.

I loved the way this came out, but I ran into a problem at the end. I think I may have the wrong size hoop. I have a 10 inch, hoop, should it be a 12 inch? I don't have the room to tie off at the bottom. Thank You!

I’ve read many of the comments and I seem to be the only one who is having difficulty with this project. I’ve restarted it 3 times and each time, it is just way too big. My trunk pretty much touches the bottom of the hoop, with no place left for the roots. My hoop is definitely 26 cm in diameter and my cord is 3 mm. Could this possibly actually be 2 mm cord? Any suggestions?
@jeanneduquette47946 ай бұрын
Well, I’ve just figured out what I did wrong - my cord is NOT 3 mm. It was my first time buying macrame cord and I thought I bought one spool of 2mm and one of 3mm, but it turns out I have a 2mm and a 5mm! So until I can order and receive a 3mm spool, I will try it with some 2 mm cord. I might just make a longer trunk to make up the difference. Ha!

I have now made seven of these, ranging from 15cm width, up to 50cm. I love making them. I will gift them or they will be found in a box in years to come. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing tutorial ❤

I made my first ever macrame piece, thanks to your wonderful tutorial. Yesterday I made my 2nd. I would like to make a 50cm size, do I just double the amounts? I've just ordered 8mm jump rings so I can follow your earring tutorial. Thanks for sharing ❤

Quick question.... will the half knots automatically twist like that???? Or is there a special technique??
@LisePiché-h4b Жыл бұрын
Hi, I just finished the tree of life which was pretty easy to follow but even though I had a 26 cm hoop and 3mm macrame cord, the tree was too big.It looks like I should have used a 30 cm hoop. Is it because the cord is 4-ply? If so I will start over with a smaller ply. Thanks.

My only addition after trying this as my first ever makrame - when you get to 7+ half knots - turn over your piece, that way you avoid it getting more and more difficult to get pretty knots. Repeat every 7 ish knots. Especially for that 22(?) knot one, this is my best tip
@annaotoole3674 Жыл бұрын
Hi Just wondering if you are able to tell me how long the cord would be if I was using a 17.5cm diameter ring? Hope you can help! Many thanks 🙏
@hannevanhaevre9752 Жыл бұрын
26 can't be divides into 4. for the roots you show a square knot with 4 strings, so did you do square knots with 3 strings for 2 roots?
@hannevanhaevre9752 Жыл бұрын
other then that this is the most well instructed video i have every seen
@melaniehorstink-knights5898 ай бұрын
You actually have 48 root strings, as the 26 lengths halved, therefore doubled.

Why do I keep ending up with some very short strings and the rest very long? How do I avoid this?
@melaniehorstink-knights5898 ай бұрын
When I got down to joining parts together, I picked the next string in, tucking the shorter string behind it.
