Shouldn't it be לְהַמְשִׁיל לוֹ, not לְהַמְשִׁילוֹ? Beautiful performance!

Thank you for a very enlightening history of Adon Olam! And, of course, the Zamir's exceptional rendering.

Just to point out a mistake in this video. The image of Dov Frimer is actually Chazan Tibor Kovari-a still from his video where he is singing a Dov Frimer puece. You could have found the real Dov Frimer at a legal roundtable also on KZbin

These are beautiful recordings that include the solo chant. It makes so much more sense and finally highlights the beauty and originality of Rossi’s sacred music. Kol ha-Kavod!

This is wonderful. Thank you for posting. I also recorded my own version of this song in the week after 7 October. It is a simple message, but the fundamental one that we all should remember.

I completely agree with comments from R. Jacobson and R Lippitz, below. The fact that ancient liturgy became a “hit song” shows that these concepts are strong and true. The sound of the Great Shofar goes into our bodies and souls… but the “thin silence” is also there. We are “a dream that flies away”… but while we are here we can sing, pray and act for Shalom.

Thank you so much have shared this beautiful program about Rossi. Some of his compositions are sung at Shearith Israel, The Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue in New York, our family congregation and have always moved me so much. I attended a beautiful concert in New York of his music this past year. Your program here is so educational about his life and music. Greatly appreciated.

Beautiful! Loved the interview - how Elena’s Jewish soul speaks through her music. I noticed how “kosi rivaya” kept repeating, as if it was continually being filled! The ending on a major chord leaves no doubt of a positive road ahead. Thank you, Prof. Jacobson, for seeking and sharing this beautiful music.
