it’s a type of porridge, similar to oatmeal but derived from corn. basically tasteless without seasoning so it can go sweet or savory😍

It's very similar to polenta. But made of hominy corn. A popular hot porridge in the Southern US. We usually eat it with butter, salt, pepper, and often topped with cheese.
