Thanks to your advice, I rearranged my 40 gallon after taking this guy out and now that tank is vastly better. All fish acting normal, very little aggression, and all the fish seem less stressed. I'm not sure what the next step is now that he's in here. This had thrown off my stocking ideas.

After making this video, I'm observing his behavior, and I've never seen such an aggressive fish. He's attacking his reflection relentlessly, swimming all over the tank, and isn't calming down. He was semi aggressive when purchased and, in the last few days, went into some kind of hyper aggressive mode.

Looking good. I would cap it in black blasting sand. . I like the filter... Hmmm.. I like quiet as well. I will answer your melon barb problem on my channel you left the question on. And I subscribed

@stubbsaquatics6080 thank you! I'm considering capping with some peace river sand I have on hand. I'm setting up a third tank and may move the most aggressive melon barb to that tank. This 40 gallon simply will not grow plants.

Update to this video. After clearing out the water, I reinstalled the part that inserts into the slots. I heard an audible "click". The part with the hoses may not have been fully seated. Filter has been running about 18 hours with no leaking so far. If you have one of these filters, check to make sure the part holding the hoses clicks into place. I have the filter in a 5 gallon bucket next to the tank in case of more leaking. *update 24+ hours later. More leaking and seems to be coming out by the power cord going into the top. Sicce recommended a few things to check. Good move to register the product with them. BRS refunded my purchase. I'm not happy about the issue but do like companies standing behind the product and customer. * update day 2 In checking the leak, I tipped the top sideways and water poured out. Clearly there is some type of a slow leak inside by the motor letting in water. Thankfully Sicce is backing up their product and sending me a new one or a new top. I'll see when it gets here next week. I only have plants in the tank and added Fluval Cycle so it'll have another week to chill with no filter. Need the plants to grow anyway. * final update. Received the replacement filter from Sicce and it's working flawlessly so far after three days. So, hope this issue was a rarity. I'd encourage people buying this filter to register it and contact Sicce right away with any issues.
