Ah, good to know. Seems to be listed as Josef Kraus on both juwra.com and ewrc-results.com so I'm not sure how that's come about?

@@supernicebob Me neither; I've just seen the two websites you mentioned. We had a very eventful rally. A few mechanical issues; 45 minutes in a ditch in Dalby Forest and finally being hit by a non competitor on a road section on the last day, that pushed the boot lid back to the axle line.. We were rewarded with the trophy for Best German entrant. Ho and at the time Reinhold's English and my German was virtually non existent.

Great film! What an amazing variety of attractive and exciting rally cars - makes modern WRC look boring (which, of course, it is). Great also to see Munari's Stratos in what must have been only its second or third World Championship event. Thanks for uploading Nic :)

Hi Nic, Brilliant footage by your Dad and thank you most sincerely for all your efforts to share this using You Tube. My navigator Malcolm Limrick and I were in car number 98 ( the black RS2000 with red, white and blue stripes) sponsored by the WIMET GROUP. We finished 50th overall with a bent rear axle ! I mainly competed with Richard Wright on Motoring News events in the INKBERROW MOTORS Escort Twin Cam and we did very well in 1978. Those were the days of real Road Rallying and very exciting it was when competing against drivers like Bill Gwynne, John Bloxham, Theo Bengry, Howard Davies, Ted Cowell and their top level navigators. In 1978 we were all averaging over 60 miles per hour through the Welsh Lanes on 200 mile MN Events and it was really safe. Thanks for the HAPPY MEMORIES from South Africa where I have lived for the past 32 years.

We stood in almost the same spot as your Dads last action shot, by the long open hairpin bend! I think it was earlier than 78 more like 76 when we went there. It was the year of the white 2L TR7 works cars.
