Can someone tell me why they make the deep different lengths? Like the smaller sizes are only a little bit longer than semi deep. The bigger sizes are like extra deep.

I’m not to sure what to do to be honest. I do love it as it is but would be amazing to see it restored. I will probably never finish what I start if I was to start restoring it all though so probably best left as is.

What do you think of the new stunny with a release button at the head? i notice you touch the back of the head for actual use. Is it a bad idea to have since you might need that spot for your dumb to ratchet out a bolt?

the triangle stuff didn't last long.I've got about 3 or 4 of them.I like them. That's a pretty good score.That's a nice top chest. It goes with the kr 557 which I have. Really good stuff. I like the character of the older snap on stuff. The character that the new stuff does not really have. .

That's really cool.It's got that art deco vibe. I'm amazed that you found so many vintage tools of that vintage. I've got a few things from the forties, but not a lot. Some SO and some blue point.

Use Eagle 1 Never Dull cotton wadding to get the rust off. Or you will be fighting rust forever. It has phosphoric acid that converts the tiny rust pits so rust doesn’t come back. It’s not that great as a rust preventative so use oil or wax or something else as well. It’s cheap and it works.
@Michelle-Eden8 ай бұрын
I notice you don't degrease or otherwise clean the handles, so why are you fussy about the metal? It's mostly cosmetic, after all. That said there are small plastic toolboxes with gaskets that keep salty air out. Personally, I spray my toolbox drawers with gun oil a few times a year.

I use ScoutCrafter's 50/50 Tool Coat formula... 50% Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) and 50% Mineral Oil (Baby Oil). Melt the Vaseline in a pan and then stir in the Baby Oil. It's also good for your hands.

It's YOU I have the same problem your hands give off salts more than other people, I've had this problem forever, i worked in a factory by a peir & thought that was the reason, & it did make it worse but nobody else's tools were rusting in a day or two

That first one you picked up is super disappointing. I have a problem with all my tools getting rusted. I work with water and electricity all day and I work in the rain to a point. The snapon is not much different than the other brands I use every day. I have almost every pair you picked up in my drawer at home and the only ones I carry in my bag are ln46acf. They are already starting to rust but they work the best and everything I have has rust
