What if it works going up but it locks when you try going down. How to fix it?

Just a little past yield strengt, so it probably takes 40k pounds or more, to completely bend or break it. And since it's steel, it usually bends a lot before failing eventually.

Is it possible to remove the handle and then create a modified nut that can be attached to the shaft which could be used by an impact gun to raise and lower the chain? I'm trying to get the best of both worlds when I'm in a remote area I can run the lift either manually with the arm, or remove the arm and use an impact gun? Thanks
@OZLiftingProducts
@OZLiftingProducts 2 ай бұрын
Hi @eatonsomemore thanks for the question! Unfortunately, this is not possible. The handwheel and handle tie everything together. The main force applied to the shaft is more centralized on the shaft at the brake hub. If you put the force on the end of the shaft with this nut, it would not hold up. You need the changeover gear that is integrated with the handle to run the brake system. If you have additional questions or would like a more in-depth answer, please feel free to contact our support line via phone or website, and our team can help you out.

Why chain hoist are not advised to use in horizontal lifting operations?. What is the actual reason behind it?
@OZLiftingProducts
@OZLiftingProducts 5 ай бұрын
@anandhubaiju6453 thanks for this great question! While chain hoists can be incredibly useful tools, they are generally not recommended for horizontal lifting operations. There are several key reasons for this: • Design Limitations: Chain hoists are primarily designed for vertical lifting. Their internal components, such as the chain guide, are optimized for supporting a load directly below the hook. During horizontal movement, the chain can bind or misalign within the hoist, leading to inefficiency, potential damage, and even lift failure. • Load Sway and Instability: When a load is lifted horizontally with a chain hoist, it's prone to swaying and instability. This can be dangerous for personnel and equipment in the vicinity. The hoist's structure and braking system may not be designed to handle the additional lateral stress of a swinging load. • Safety Regulations: Many safety regulations and industry best practices discourage using chain hoists for horizontal lifting. There's a higher risk of equipment malfunction and potential injury when used outside their intended purpose. For horizontal lifts/pulling situations we would recommend using a winch. Check out OZ's winch selection at ozliftingproducts.com/products/electric-winch/. For additional information or recommendations on safe lifting solutions for your specific needs, feel free to contact our team of material handling experts. We're here to help! Yea yea yea, we've seen these things hoist a million times. I want to see it lower the payload to ground as well you know. Id even like to see it stop midway at the maximum swl. I noticed you slew the load over the elevated surface before the hoist has reached the required height, which makes me wonder if you're trying to demonstrate the workers amazing level of efficiency, or do not trust/endorse the electric winch for anything other than the actual hoisting process. Not even a momentary hold where the winches braking system holding the suspended load encounters additional strain from the lateral movement of the load as it is pushed from stationary position to where it ia to unloaded (while under brake, not hoist)

Thanks for your comment @muntee33 ! We appreciate your interest in our davit crane and winch's capabilities. You're absolutely right, it's important to see the full range of functions, including lowering the payload and holding it at maximum SWL. We'll make sure to incorporate these details in future videos for a more comprehensive demonstration. To clarify your concerns: • Winch Capacity: Our electric winches are designed to hold the full load capacity of the davit crane, regardless of whether the load is being lifted, lowered, or held statically. • SWL and Cable Wrap: The SWL (Safe Working Load) remains the rated capacity of the crane. However, the effort required for the winch to lift the load can increase with more cable wrapped around the drum (full drum) compared to using less cable (first layer or mid-drum). You can find detailed load charts on our website ozliftingproducts.com/products/steel-davit-crane-made-in-usa/ that illustrate these variations. • Video Demonstration: This video focused on a single aspect - lifting and rotating the load in one motion. We understand the value of showcasing all capabilities, and future videos will strive to include more diverse examples and features. Our team member aimed to demonstrate a smooth, efficient lifting process. However, your point regarding stopping the winch before rotation is valuable feedback, and we'll consider incorporating that in future demonstrations to emphasize control and safety. We appreciate your insights and look forward to providing even more informative content in the future!

It'll looks like a good design. 3k for a 500lb crane is insane. Harbor freight sells a serviceable unit for $130. You guys need to get the price down to 500-600. I literally laughed when i saw the price.

We appreciate your feedback. We understand that our Tele-Pro davit crane is more expensive than some other davit cranes on the market. However, we believe that the quality and performance of our product justify the price. Our Tele-Pro davit crane is a high-quality product that is designed to last. Its patented design is also the only davit crane on the market that allows the user to telescope the boom while under load, which makes it a valuable tool for a variety of applications.

At this time no there is no way to slow them down. We are developing future models with a soft start but current models are very much on or off. The speed of these hoists is what's desirable in many applications, unfortunately not for all.

The Hook has exceeded Hookes Law ( no pun intended) the force applied was way out of proportion to the elastic characteristics of the hook design ,hence did not return to its original position when the load was released.
