the writing is dreadful and the narration is awful too.

I love how characters we love live on with new authors. The Sherlock Holmes new collections are so fun as well.

Very cleverly written. I’ve read several takes on Agatha‘s Miss Marple. This was one of the better ones. Excellent narration. Thank you loved it. 1:06:37

Newer authors in the Miss Marple canon are welcome but for some listeners perhaps the authors' names should be shown more prominently.

This actually a short story named The Second Murder at the Vicarage. It was written by Val McDermid. It is one of 12 new Miss Marple stories authorized by the Christie Estate.

Did any of y'all read the description??? It's right there, explaining all!! Just in case you need help finding it, here goes: "Evil in Small Places (by Lucy Foley)is the 1st short story in the collection Marple: Twelve New Mysteries. -"Agatha Christie’s legendary sleuth, Jane Marple, returns to solve twelve baffling cases in this brand-new collection, penned by a host of acclaimed authors skilled in the fine art of mystery and murder"... "Each author captures Christie-and Marple-perfectly, while also displaying just a bit of her own unique touch. . . . "- Rhys Bowen, Washington Post …" You're welcome 😊

This is sooooo not ok. Agatha would NEVER have allowed this to be published in her name. Who approved this? Limp carrot? 44:04 I may not be as prudish as Miss Marple but I certainly am embarrassed to have this playing aloud in my kitchen! Can’t take another minute. Shame on whoever is trying to make money off the memory of my favorite author with this cheap sordid trash!

Absolute rubbish. Miss Marple reduced to insipid. Definitely not written by Agatha Christie and it shows.

Too terrible. Definitely NOT an authentic Agatha Christie.

This is a fraud. Clickbait. Christie probably turns in her grave - exploitation and disrespectful use of her name to cover this pedestrian, badly written stuff - it's a "story" alright, stolen goods. Shame on you for posting this.

To those upset because this story is not written by Agatha Christie, please at least do a quick Google search. This story is one of a volume of twelve new stories written as an homage to Agatha Christie similar to the new Sherlock Holmes stories recently appearing as the copyrights expire. It's not exactly fan fiction since the "fans" are well known writers. Personally I'm not happy about that either since the voice is definitely different.

*Read by Alex Kingston* *[Add Story is written by Lucy Foley, it's in a collection of 12 stories by 12 different writers, using the Agatha Christie characters etcetera.]* *Was looking for a reading by Joan Hickson who plays Miss Marple, and this came up. All the actors reading are great!* So far, that's Juliet Stevenson, Joan Hickson, Alex Kingston. Great variations of tone, volume, accent, humour, timing, and intonation in each of their readings. Reading ... begins 00:07

So excited to find a new Agatha Christie story! So disappointing to find that it is not really Agatha at all. Please mark these fakes so that we won't waste our time even clicking on these monstrosities. I would subscribe if you would do that.

I love the original stories best, but these are a creative ‘what if’. (As an aside, Jane’s unholy-description of the Mona Lisa as “a glorified postage-stamp” tickled My funny-bone!)😂😉
