I am not sure how you isolated gelatin as the definitive reason as to why your beer didn't carbonate...

Good looking clear beer! The burp really hits it home though...

If you if you use gelatin in the fermentor or cold crash and then bottle with gelatin, always pitch a fresh, re-hydrated yeast slurry. 1 gram is all you need. US-05 works every time.

So cute to see all the work people put into fancy sparging systems. I run a hose from an ice chest's spigot (my HLT) to the top of the mash tun with one of these on the end: an instant $3.50 sparge arm. Whoopee. Search for "siphon sprayer" on Northern Brewer

the only redeeming part of that video was that hellacious belch. I like it.

You can not judge a beer by it's cover, it's whats on the inside that counts. So, how did the Anchor Steam turn out?

i just bottled a few using this method for a competiton. i rotate one keg and brewing another for the same comp so i can enter both beers. i was a little concerned about carbonation, but good looks at 5 months later....

@Cannile Dry-hoppin = cloudy beer? Dude nawwwwww. I did a (I)IIPA/Barley-wine using 17oz of hops and it was super clear. Just takes sitting in the fridge for a while. I used ~4-6oz of dry-hops (pellet), directly into the beer.
