I just went from respecting Plato a great bit to having my first thought that he is a buffoon. I used to think Diogenes was a buffoon

Make a video about stoicisms good and evil, and indifferents?

Fantastic video! This explained everything in a condensed clear way. I also just want to mention that I am a PhD-student in philosophy and this was very helpful for a particular problem in my writing. Thanks! One more thing... could you tell what the reference is to Christofer Warne?

I am glad you found the video useful! I am happy to give you the reference: Christopher Warne, Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics: A Reader's Guide, (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2006).

This is great content, finally something worthwhile to listen to on social media. Thank you. You should do more on stoic stuff, maybe ciceros tusculan disputations? Or Diogenes lairtus?

*Were immortal life in a physical body to be at once had by the wishing for it, there would be only a scant few in the world who would not at once take it. No mortal is now fit and ready to take immortal life. If it were possible for a mortal to put on immortality at once, he would draw unto himself unending misery; but it is not possible. Man must prepare himself for immortal life before he can live forever.*

Evil is born from pain and what endures physical and mental pain more than the body? so sure we can argue that the body is a conduit for evil therefore is evil itself....Once more Plato is right

It is surprising that this video is so unpopular. If someone who normally can suffer can not, whether they ever suffered before or not, we need not treat them any better than a plant l, correct? What about killing those in their sleep?, if they cannot suffer, it should be morally (but not legally) permissible. Is the answer the same if they never had the ability to suffer? I can understand that it would be wrong to storm into a hospital and bayonet all the patients because of the suffering caused, but if you do it all instantaneously with virtually no suffering, would that be morally permissible?

I think that there can be objective value for many people in the absence of God because suffering is objectively bad so if you help others to avoid suffering, you have done something objectively good. The main problem here, however, is that most people don't have the money, time, or talent to spare to significantly help others. So for the majority, I agree, there is only objective meaning through God.

I'm currently on my own journey to eudimonia. For awhile now I've been battling with my desire for romance and sex. Ever since my first break up, I've felt like I've lost the only thing I've ever wanted. Now I'm just sick and tired of my desire. I would prefer to channel it into a preference and not have to worry and be sad I'm single. Still working on it, but your channel I just found seems very promising. So I appreciate you.

I personally feel like Fideism is just blind faith. There is a different kind of faith, which is true faith, which relies on reason.

Isn’t the idea that the universe is the infinite primal cause countered by Aquinas’s argument from motion? Because the universe is dynamic and changing, and thus there must have been a mover.
