You can remove spark plug rubber by blowing compressed air through the drain hole in the side of the cylinder head! Same problem here. New coils / caps / plugs / valve re-shim / new inlet manifold rubbers / checked vacuum lines from metal inlet manifolds / new fuel pump / carb service and fault still there. Will be replacing the BDST38 carbs with some BDSR38 type soon. Been trying to fix this fault for a year now!

Use an air line in the plug well drain hole on the side of the cylinder to get the rubbers out!
