Gosh i forgot, haven't played SF since this video

I've maybe a dozen very unique locations outside the randomly generated ones. You just have to be willing to explore and poke around to galaxy to find them. I just wish there was little side content to go with these locations.

Was wondering, myself, but I disabled clipping to look behind the door, and there's nothing. If you go through and walk forward, you fall through the "floor" and end up at the docking hatch.

It's inside the big room with the partially completed ship, you can unlock and leave from that door. It's basically just a quicker exit.

You can change the walls apparently. I think when you are in the outpost builder you go to a wall and when it's highlighted you get the option. At least that's what I was told on Reddit. Going to try it tonight.

I looked through these while I'm here and went back for the room you mentioned but found no contraband 😢

It could be a bug, maybe it's a glitched version of your ship icon? Then again the only free ship I know of is Mantis

I thought there might be a free ship but couldnt find anything; my own ships icon was visible on scanner in the main chamber

Yes they phase and this occurs after you leave the area but once you move them back they seem to not phase again, at least in my experience

I am pretty sure the problems are the center points of the objects. That’s why you mostly have 2 items which are the same model, same name but with a different orientation. Like the contraband cases, some are made standing up, some are made laying down. If you now stand up an originally laying down model then after a refresh can recalibrate the model to its center point. I placed a lot of these cases standing in a shelf and after revisit some were stuck exactly to the center side. These were the Laying down model versions.

In the perks you use a skill point then research it on the research station

There is a perk in the science or tech category that allows you to research more outpast items

Agreed. Decided to do ng+ until done then go back to my massive building and exploring plans. Saw someone refer to first play through as their tutorial. I liked that idea
