I’m a new Subscriber!😊. I truly enjoyed watching this. Working with wood always fascinates me and you did not disappoint me. I have the last name “Fox” in my family tree on my Mom’s side and my uncle lived to be 101 years old. Every year when I was growing up (the first 25 years of my life) we had a Fox family reunion, and there were a lot of us! Thanks for bringing the memories back to me. This is a stunning and sweet piece. 👏🏻💥👍

You're welcome. I noticed there weren't many videos of these figures so it might be to share them. this is also my first collection of table top minis I've painted. I know the camera work in this first one isn't great, I was trying a different camera. Later I will be uploading these another better filming of the Animals of Faraway Sea. The color bases, and the rings on the other figures, are accomplished through Ohuhu Paint Markers, which I have also used on many of the figures.

I always have a very thick side to my 1's. Its always very proud no matter what mold I use. I even have one from druid. How do I get rid of it?
@foxysartbox2 ай бұрын
You can always trim it away with an Xacto knife and then buff in the sanding phase. Orrrrr... one way to at least limit it is to place an additional weight on top of the mold. Not too heavy, don't want to crush the mold and deform the dice. But enough to really squish that void. Make sure it covers the entire cap evenly, if not it may make a couple dice with a larger edge. I have noticed doing this on my own pours makes that proud edge only a minor trim job. Hope that tip works. ;)
Thank you! They're fun to make. I'd been doing clear pushes before this. The call for videos sparked the idea of the iridescent pairing.

Hiya… I have a couple of questions, if you don’t mind? I understand what loaded means but I know very little about these types of dice. Could you tell me what they’re used for? And what is RPG? My daughters have said that I should make some D & D dice… is that what these are? Sorry for all the questions… but I’m keen to learn more about them. Much love from Nat. (Brisbane, Australia) ♥️♥️🇦🇺
@foxysartbox2 ай бұрын
Absolutely, happy to help! Loaded dice are when something happens in the casting to make the dice favor landing on a certain side. This can be accidental, such as the forming of an off-center void. Or on purpose where denser material is placed in such a way to ensure a favorable roll. Ideal dice do NOT have that property, and are random in their results. The set of seven dice are commonly used in RPGs (Role Playing Games). These are table-top games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and such where the player takes on the role of a hero usually in a party of adventurers. There are lots of variety, but they typically involve magic and swords in fantasy settings--but can also be steampunk, modern, vampires and werewolves etc. They are as wild as the imagination of the players. If you haven't seen it, I have a video showing how to cast basic dice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2mkfY15rteNd6ssi=ODYgAOBObT4fqvut If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.

@@foxysartbox Thank you so much for your quick reply! Now I have a much better understanding it all. I have already watched that video and, I must admit, it looks a little daunting to me! 😂 Although you did advise to make sure you have a quality mould, I might grab one from Amazon to have a play with first! Much love from Nat. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
@foxysartbox2 ай бұрын
@@mattersofthehartbynat8815 It is daunting. Dice are one of the tricker items to cast. Practicing with a cheaper cap/squish mold from Amazon is a good idea. I used one to learn on and just knew that all my D20's would have a defect on the 1 side as the mold doesn't fit proper and forms a lip. Otherwise that mold does work for casting.

I always rest mine on a tower up the middle so I get even air pressure in the center. Had like 4 of them collapse before I learned.
@foxysartbox5 ай бұрын
I haven't run into collapse with my casts of this one. Definitely ran into the leaking issue--thus my knowledge of the "hot gluing while resin is seeping through being nearly impossible" bit. :D My first casting was messy! But at least I'd had it inside of a catch basin!
@ravn6065 ай бұрын
@@foxysartbox oh yeah. Those and dice always in a catch basin. Problem with collapses happened when I was putting them on a surface the mold sealed to, like silicone. Think the first successful one was just resting on cardboard so the air could get in.

So I’ve seen reviews where people have reached out to the manufacturer of Mix2Mold and they cannot answer the ratio of this product (without using the cup). Would you happen to know the ratio of this product? To me it’s almost a 10:3 ratio? EDIT: For the longest they didn’t have it listed on their website but they do now thank goodness!
@shapiirax39175 ай бұрын
So ... I have a question, i ran trough so many dice-making related places and i still dont have answer for that... Pressure chamber or however to call that - i have that type where you have a pot and a pump that sucks air off and... You should let te pump run whole curing process or just drop pressure to ~-1bar and then hold it?
@foxysartbox5 ай бұрын
You're talking about a vacuum chamber. :) That is a different process intended to degas the bubbles out of the resin prior to pouring in a mixing cup. In your case you would cycle through vacuum and release to get rid of the bubbles within your resin's working time. Then slowly pour into your molds. Degassing expands the volume of your resin and if placed in the molds would probably make a huge mess of your chamber. You can do the degassing and pour your dice for a tabletop cure. This has better odds than pouring without the degassing. The reason the pressure pot works so will is you can skip the degas as any smaller bubbles will be compressed beyond what the eye can see, and it helps to suck the mold cap on higher so it doesn't form voids from microbubbles that can form in curing resin. Hope that answers your question.
