Can I set it that after time runs out the participants are randomly assigned to another room rather than bringing them back to the main one? I want to have something like speed dating excercise during my webinar
@WebinarExperts28 күн бұрын
Sounds like a fun activity. The only way to achieve this is to open the breakout rooms (with random attendee assignment option), then close the breakouts before reopening them with random assignment again. To our knowledge it is not possible to auto-move people based on time allocation from one room to another. Good luck!

Great video!! I work within a meeting room, so during a zoom meeting, I need to have 2 microphones, one for me and one for the people in the meeting room, I would like to have a hotkey in order to switch microphones but I don´t see that option in the hotkey menu... is there a way to do this? Thanks!!!
@WebinarExperts8 ай бұрын
Glad you like the video! Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Zoom natively supports hotkeys for switching between two mics. Hopefully it will be added to the roadmap sometime.

Hi, when I share a video on zoom or skype, the music always gets distorted and mostly silent but we can hear the dialogues properly. Why is this so?
@WebinarExperts10 ай бұрын
There is usually a setting that allows you to optimise the audio of a video clip during playback. Each platform is a little different, but in Zoom it's within the Screenshare settings before you play the video. You should select the "share sound" check box and also the "optimize for video clip" check box.

Hi, is there any way to schedule polls in Zoom beforehand? I want that people have to answer before joining the webinar.
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
The Zoom host has to launch a poll before participants can respond to it. This has to happen inside the Zoom session. You could run polls on a separate tool such as Slido ahead of your session. We hope this helps!

The worst part is, the options are limited to 10 choices please let me know what can be done ?
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! From a best practice perspective, restricting polls to 10 choices makes sense. Often, time is limited during a call or webinar. If the moderator reads out the options, or they give the audience enough time to read (and digest) more than 10 options themselves, it can make the poll quite lengthy. In most cases, this would not create a good audience experience. You might even say that the poll (which is there for audience engagement) would actually disengage the audience. An alternative would be to split a poll that requires more than 10 choices into two separate polls (wherever possible) and use it an an opportunity to engage the audience again at a later point.

At that point I can add my question: Is it possible to record a talking-head-video with two participants (no one else is viewing)? The only way we found, was to add a third person (with an old iPad for example), mute that one and put the spotlight on the other two people. But that is really not very elegant. Maybe someone has a solution to get a recording with both speakers at one (not switching the video to the speaking person)?
@DavidWatsonGriffin Жыл бұрын
But how to selectively mute a participant on zoom?
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Hi David, to mute a participant, open up the "Manage Participants" panel in your zoom meeting. When hovering over the participants name a blue mute button should appear. Click it to mute the participant.

@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
t may be best to try disabling automatic recording in your user settings. To do this click on the settings cog in the top right of the app. At the bottom of the window locate the "view more settings" link and click it. This should open up you profile settings in the browser. Navigate to the recording tab and uncheck Automatic recording from the list. We hope this helps!

How can I set up breakout rooms with designated hosts for that room and then add participants randomly?
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Hi Jean, to set up Zoom breakout rooms with designated hosts and add participants randomly, you can follow these steps: 1. Schedule your Zoom meeting and enable breakout rooms. 2. Before the meeting, create a list of the designated hosts for each breakout room. Make sure they have a Zoom account and are added as meeting participants. 3. Once the meeting starts, click on the "Breakout Rooms" button at the bottom of the screen. 4. In the breakout room settings, select "Assign" and manually assign the designated hosts to each breakout room. 5. Click on "Recreate" to create the breakout rooms with the designated hosts. 6. Once the breakout rooms are created, click on "Options" and select "Allow participants to choose room" so that participants can select a breakout room to join. 7. Click on "Open All Rooms" to open the breakout rooms. 8. Participants will be able to see the list of breakout rooms and select one to join. Once they join, the designated host for that room will be notified. 9. To add participants randomly to breakout rooms, click on "Options" and select "Move all participants into breakout rooms." Choose the number of breakout rooms you want to create and click "Create Breakout Rooms." The participants will be randomly assigned to the rooms. 10. If you need to move participants between breakout rooms, click on "Breakout Rooms" and select "Reassign" to move participants to different rooms. Remember to communicate the designated hosts and breakout room setup to participants before starting the breakout rooms.

@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately there is currently no way to set this automatically. However, you can also share device audio after you have begun sharing by locating the share toolbar, clicking 'More', and then selecting 'Share Sound'.

Not exactly what I was looking for. It only allows the "Host-only" and not as a "Participant" to automatically record that one session you schedule. But it doesn't automatically record all future video meetings as a "Default".
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
You can only record a meeting if the host permission state that you can. If you want to set up automatic recording on all of your scheduled meetings you can do this via the settings menu in the web portal. You can also access this via the app by clicking the settings cog in the top right and then following the "view more settings" link. Navigate to the recording tab and check Automatic recording from the list to enable the feature.

Thanks for this advice...the problem I've run into, and I can't find an answer. Just did a two-person, me and another guy and the view was set to "Speaker's view." But the view kept clicking back to me even though I wasn't saying anything...irritating..I've had to cover those shots with a graphic when I polished the recording..lots of work...why didn't it say on that speaker while he was speaking? Help!
@deboraewing9944 Жыл бұрын
I think using Spotlight would override that? I'm about to test some things with a colleague. maybe we can test that.
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Hi Wordchipper, if you were not muted within the zoom application, it is possible that zoom was picking up sound in the background (even small / almost inaudible sounds) and then changing back to your view. We recommend that speakers manually mute themselves when they are not speaking to help avoid this issue.

Thank you. When you schedule a meeting is there a way to make a default meeting title?
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
You can make a meeting template in the Zoom web portal. To do this sign into the web portal via your browser. In the meetings menu click "Schedule a Meeting". From here you can select the title and any other settings required for your meeting. Once you have selected your settings click save. You can now scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save as Template. Now whenever you schedule a new meeting you can select the template in the template drop down menu.

Hi, so if the breakout session is 10 minutes inclusive of the timeout, I can set 9 minutes and give the 60sec allowance to make it 10 minutes in total?
@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, you can adjust the breakout session to 9 minutes and give an additional 60 seconds for a total of 10 minutes. It's a great way to ensure that participants have enough time for their activity while allowing a bit of leeway at the end of the session. When setting up the breakout session, simply go to the "Options" tab and adjust the time limit to 9 minutes. Then, make sure to let your participants know about the additional 60 seconds so that they can plan their activity accordingly. You can communicate this verbally on the Zoom call prior to opening the breakout rooms. It's important to communicate the timing expectations clearly with your participants so that everyone is aware of the allotted time and can make the most of the breakout session.

Hi Larissa, you should be able to spotlight with a free account. Make sure you've recently updated your Zoom and that you have more than one person in the meeting, this usually works with at least three people, including yourself.

@WebinarExperts Жыл бұрын
Hi Larissa Your spotlight feature may not be available for one of the following reasons: - You have not got host or co-host privileges for the meeting - You need three (3) or more participants with video on to spotlight someone - Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, or Linux needs to be Global minimum version or higher It sounds like you have checked the first two points above. Did you also check the third point?
