They all run like that. It's a compromise between co and hc emissions. If you slightly open up the pilot jet it will run better and start without the choke when it's not cold outside.

I would rather watch your videos over any mystery program on TV. Ah-ha the dip stick killed the generator! Great detective work and you revived the victim to go back to work. Sure cleaned up nice as well.

The internal volume of the muffler is tuned to the size of the engine pulses, by folding each sound wave back on itself, so a smaller muffler would work better.

Hey Clint, thanks for the opportunity to participate in the exciting contest, almost too good to be true, well then, regarding the Ryobi One plus line as featured on your vlog, I’m going for the 18 volt high performance hammer drill kit that can deliver 450 inch pounds of torque… Really? I guess so because you represent the truth and I’m confident that you promote integrity, and yet the kit retails for $149 Really? Thanks Santa Clint, been watching your channel for years We’ll be back to check on the status of this incredible contest

Great video James. Given the internals of the governor are working correctly, I'd try drilling another hole closer in the governor arm to check if that makes any difference. Cheers, EJ

In comparison to when you pulled the cam, you installed it aligned to the crank with the wring notch. When you pulled it apart it was aligned with the dot closer to the center of the cam gear, installation showed you aligned it with the dot further from the center (one tooth off)

They make generators loud so you won't take them inside! Im 64 and the carbon monoxide warning stickers just dont work! ( I even plug in a fan for cooling and exhaust removal) If you own a house you must get one...or 2!

To keep a machine looking good, spray or paint the under deck area with a rubberized undercoating product. Grass contains moisture and as it breaks down it turns acidic and the moisture starts to cause rust. With the thin steel in todays machines decks and the prices this is cheap insurance to keep from buying another in6-8 yrs.

I have a generac gp 6500 brushless with a avr, and I don't see a cap. on mine, and can' find a new cap, anywhere.
@jcondon16 сағат бұрын
There should be a white sticker on the back side of the control panel rail with the model number. Generac made several versions of the gp6500. On you have a number google search that number and find a parts diagram. From there you can find the capacitor or avr for your machine.

I gave one of those to my next door neighbor a few years ago that worked perfectly fine, thinking his old mower wasn't cutting it, so to speak, lol. Turns out he was just too lazy to mow his lawn. When he moved he didn't even take the mower with him, so I have it back now, lol.

You have to be careful with those generators that eat oil up. They will run out on you and burn the motor up. Mine eat gasoline like crazy, always having to refill the damn thing. 😂

An alternative way to clean a tank in similar condition would be to dump carb cleaner in and slosh it around since all the crud is on the bottom. Just a thought.
@eagle777dh21 сағат бұрын
Couple hints for you. starting a cold saw set your choke and throttle and then pull it slow a couple times to prime the fuel system. When adjusting carb screws start at 1 1/4 or what the manufacturer says if known then when running go clockwise till it goes slower then back it out till it hits its highest speed then go just a little more. A little on the rich side is better. Stanley's saw is on a fresh rebuild and will probably take a little while to break in. After a tank of gas has been run through it retune the carb. NOW stanley has his saw and one to loan out.

Has there ever been a more cheaply made, nastier, more hideous product than the BS "engines". What rubbish. You also need to go to a competent optician, (maybe someone not American,) because the governor shaft wasn't moving for about 5 or more minutes of video time and you didn't see it! For a part that was the centre of attention at the time that is a worrying indication as to your vision. Also the finish you achieve when painting with spray cans would be far better if you followed the instructions written on most cans - a very light 'tac' coat before two or three more coats instead of trying to do the job with one coat, in doing so you also improve the longevity of the finish. To quieten the rattle, try pinching the flats on the square tube in a little to close the gap up, it is a pity you couldn't lubricate that sliding part, but it being the type of machine it is and the environment in which it operates, that would not be an option.

Thanks for the video. I have a Champion 5500W inverter and it was smoking. It had compression but I found oil in the spark plug and also the smell. Took the head out and the piston seems to have a lot of clearance, I can even see the gap of the 1st ring, its just too much. The piston is "rocking" and I can move it... I measured the cylinder diameter ~71.5mm. I think the piston is 68mm and should be 70mm, so I will get a 70mm kit on it and see how it goes. Oil level seemed fine. I can't understand why I still had compression, probably the same oil that entered the chamber was sealing it.

Good day sir. In around 25:30 min. of your video, you connected your yellow wire to the negative pole (or originally connected blue wire) then you connected your yellow wire to the positive pole of the battery. I ask if what i see is correct? Thanks in advance for your reply, Sir.

I recommend replacing the original carbatrator bolts with something like Allen head screws. That way one can more easily install & remove the next time.
@robincross4625Күн бұрын
Basic ELECTRONICS says that you can come up with a correct capacitance by paralleling capacitors that add up to the desired value. 20 + 5 = 25 MFD. Series connection of capacitors is a LOT more complicated to come up with a specific value.

my champion when its cold under 40 degrees it starts but the rpm is maxed like its going to blow up. above 40 it starts and runs fine. Any idea what that would be?
@davidmonteil6340Күн бұрын
Makes me wonder James if maybe the spring is not the right part (very wrong tension, wrong thickness, wrong wire, etc.) and possibly belongs to a different model of champion Gen. Maybe it could be that the governor is mismatched (wrong part) to that engine. Both scenario's seem possible. Hopefully the Champion dealer might give us a clue, because it's not a feature but is an issue if (and only if) more of the same model have the same governor droop.
