Form looked great...love your head turns lots of power.. 60 years doing this, my Shotokan instructor in 1967 would make me do this form until my feet were at the exact spot I started. With my eyes closed. Just like he taught us. Master in Kenpo and Tang Soo Do. So your are 6 inches off and nobody will say anything...Perfect Practice makes Perfect

Sir ...Master for many years here.TSD & Kenpo ...great form and power. However the head should turn first and independent of the next move ... strike STOP turn head then move...or Block Stop snap your head to look where you are moving next, eyes first then move. And you are not a metronome. put in some syncopation. More stops then head turn. I'm sure you will understand this in a few years .... However every Green Belt will love you....
@larrycovin164118 күн бұрын
Sir this form should last a lot longer...Think.. Where can I stop. Where can I pause for dramatic effect Move slowly like a snake and then strike. Cobra is not all strike and strike it is pause then strike. Form is great bur there are at least a dozen point after a strike you can turn your head position and then strike again. Add 20 or more seconds to the form for dramatic effect then you look like a cobra. Not a metronome. Give the form a personality Love you. 40 year master Shotokan and Tang Soo Do .

Hello good evening. I loved your videos, your Tang Soo Do school has social networks like Instagram?. I would like to see more of this art, I know these videos were uploaded many years ago, I would like to see their application for self-defense. Thank you very much for sharing and a great greeting from Chile.

@mrblackbelt425 ай бұрын
@@Simplyjusthere283 You will see slight variations from one tang Soo do group to another. It doesn’t mean it’s wrong, just different. I show and teach the forms the way my instructor taught me. The differences mean nothing. What matters is the ability to perform the moves sharply, powerfully, and gracefully. When you are practicing your version, focus on those aspects and you do fine.

13 years too late... However, the Japanese flag on the wall is not Japanese formal flag. That flag represents the Imperial Japanese military colonialism. That flag is just like Germany's Hakenkreuz.

WHY do you have the Christian flag and Imperial Japanese flag on that wall!?!? The flag of Taiwan doesn't make sense there either, but at least it's not really controversial! WTF??
@kickhick7tree111 ай бұрын
He's clearly a man of faith. There's nothing wrong with that. My karate class meets in a church gym. I very seriously doubt he proselytizes his faith in his students. This is clearly a school where free speech is legal, so respect his beliefs, even if you don't share them
@wuwei8711 ай бұрын
@7tree1senpai How strange that you would respond to one part of my comment and ignore the rest. I respect his beliefs, and he may not he proselytizing to his students, but loudly broadcasting his faith every time people glance at the front of the dojang is very tacky, IMO. My own instructor makes no secret about his side job as a Baptist minister, but at least he has no religious iconography on the walls! And HOW could you not know about the Imperial Japanese flag and how extremely offensive it is to all East Asians, including Koreans!? That flag in the lower left was flown by the Japanese Empire when they colonized and raped and killed their way across Asia -- and brutally ruled Korea for 35 years. Regardless of how I feel about the Christian flag, that one has no place in a Korean dojang and would be a slap in the face to any Korean who were to walk through the door.

I have a question on the cup and saucer so I noticed your top hand was plum down. I was taught that that’s a half cup and palm facing in is a full cup. My new school only does 4 cups palm in like if you were doing an arm bar and you’re pressing against it. Do you have a difference with your cup and saucer’s?
